tim burton's latest film is up against a b-p oil spill drama and a crime comedy. rick damigella takes a look at what's new at the box office. <<(nat) "jake! right on time. miss peregrine, delighted to meet you." the doors are opening to "miss peregrine's home for peculiar children" this weekend. tim burton's first big budget foray since the disappointing debut of "dark shadows" in 20-12, is expected to perform well according to the hollywood reporter. the movie is tracking to debut with 25-million dollars and defeat current box office (nat oil seep) (nat alarm) "are you seeing this?" based on the 20-10 b-p oil rig disaster, "deepwater horizon's" opening numbers appear cloudy. t-h-r's pundits will only say the film will open in the quote, "high-teens" while variety predicts an 18-million dollar weekend.
