so what was it about levar burton that made this program so successful? i tell you what, we we got a grant. we went to kellogg's and corporation public broadcasting to do a pilot, got a grant, and we did we did a program, healing masters meet you at the airport. and this was a test we were able to get a group called ramsey research to do a test and corporation for public broadcasting wanted i think this before we could even get more money. that's my thoughts and the tests are well done. well done test by this ramsey research and they found out you know, he was sincere. they did a lot of surveying just like sesame street and electric company did. they watched children as they watched the programs and actually the think the programs kind of peaked when levar burton was on was on the set. there were other elements of the program in the pilot. i'm just talking about the pilot. he's an advisor. meet you at the airport. that did not work. and not work as well. and they they found that he was a sincere person. and you know, he's young, black, male appeal to a lo
