now of course, i can express my own opinion on that how the court should rule in king versus burwell. i won't speculate how the decision will turn out except express my own personal opinion. i just say we should be prepared because should the court validate subsidies to exchange we need to mitigate the discsal damage obamacare will inflict on the health care system and that is something we have to be working on. finally in terms of health care there are a few must-pass items on the finance committee's agenda. one of these is the childrens health insurance program or chip which is set to expire in september. we heard from a number of governors from red states and blue states alike they want to see this program extended. it is a marvlous program. it worked very very well. i'm optimistic we can work on a bipartisan bicameral basis to extend chip in a responsible way. in addition there is medicare sustainable growth rate or sgr. that expires on march 1st. last year i joined five of my colleagues introducing a bipartisan bicameral bill to fix the broken sgr formula with an improved payment
