by far president bush sr., 41, and barbara bush were the favorite of the residents. he set up a horseshoe pit where he would play horseshoes every week with different members of the staff. he grew so close to them he even invited a houseman who did vacuuming and moving of heavy furniture up to the house for dinner one night. which was really unheard of. they just had a special bond with these people and barbara bush in an interview told me she was really concerned the clintons weren't going to keep up the horseshoe pit, she was concerned. and one of the things that happened was an usher answered the phone and barbara bush had called and this was during the clinton administration. she was asking help with her memoir, computer help. and mrs. clinton found out about it and was just furious because it was a breach of trust, they thought, that someone would be talking. and so he was fired because they said it was a lack of discretion. >> so at what point do you feel like, in what you've noticed with the first families when do they get the trust in the staff and vice versa
