busses are back. so we have two proposals for your consideration today. option 1 is the request from the alamo square neighborhood association that all streets within that shaded area be restricted to commercial vehicles with 9 or more seats with the exception of employer busses, the neighborhood association does not want to prohibit the google type busses from operating in the neighborhood, and also relocating the tour bus loading zone which is currently on fell west of divisadero to fell street just east of pierce street. so all the east-west streets and all the north-south streets within the shaded area would be restricted to tour busses. some of the issues, it would require san francisco police department to enforce these restrictions. we put up signs like the one shown on the top. with the tour bus loading zone on fell street there is a safety concern because it's just west of the crest of the hill between steiner and pierce streets. if people don't park -- if the busses don't pull all the way ov

a small number of employer busses or google busses, about 3 percent at that time. so we tracked where the busses are going and this map shows that almost all of them wound up on hayes street on the south side of alamo square at one time or another, some were going east, some were going west. the ones going east tended to fan out on to various neighborhood streets after crossing steiner street. in june 2013 the alamo square neighborhood association asked us to do some updated counts. this is primarily because things have changed, the hop on hop off operators have formed an organization and decided to stop going by alamo square, they changed their route in order to not be so disruptive to the neighbors. so we got some different findings at that point. overall in 2011 we counted a bus about every three minutes. in 2013, two years later, it was down it a bus about every 7 1/2 minutes mainly because the hop on, hop off busses were not coming by at that time. we had about the same number of enclosed busses so their percentage jumped up to 62 percent. we had a little decr

one year was busses and taxi have ans, i drove double decker busses and i gave tours along those various corridors. i really think that just as the stretch of scott street near debose used to be known to people and get a lot of attention and no longer is remembered, i think we should just let the whole steiner street thing pass, there are better places to view painted ladies, they are not the best painted ladies, the ladies have an ability whether you glimpse the magic and you don't want them to be disappointed with you, if you have something maybe as large as a maxi van, my experience is either you let them see the bishop mansion, steiner street or steiner street for a bus driver making a turn is a very big deal. any time those busses are making a turn in those neighborhoods you should think of that as approximately the same thing as an aircraft carrier coming through the golden gate bridge and that's about how it feels to do one of those, that's about the kind of attention it draws on the neighborhood. i really think that you could tell people there are better painted ladies on golden

advocacy rights at my college which we fought for physical access barrier issues and fought for special bussing on campus. replacing an entire fleet of buses to make them accessible for those on campus. it still exist today and still going strong. it's led me here to san francisco as well joining the independent living resource center of san francisco. a disability rights advocacy organization that has strong roots here since 1977. i work there currently as an assistive technology educator and working with people to finding the right strategies around technology. i'm very happy to be able to do outreach to high schools, community colleges as well with youth programming as well as work on the disability disaster emergency preparedness committee and sometimes i'm a bit faulty with all the acronyms. i'm very glad to see the work around the different shelters and as well as people from mod step up and all of those as well. i'm very happy to join this council and look forward to working with each and everyone of you. thank you. >> hi. this is -- deputy director of programmatic access. so council mem

it's very clear they are being bussed in and subdued and regimented and not like the crowd behind mestudents and when i asked some of them what they thought about this decision they said we have no idea, we don't know and they are getting paid $18 a day for expenses just to come here and show support and we can see what is going on there and i was talking to one of the opposition politicians and i said to him what is the tactic now and he said alarmingly because of so many protests really building up steam over the weekend when he gets back he thinks that there will be some attempt to provoke the crisis, provoke the police to move in and then he will clamp down on all the protests here in kiave and look to the presidential elections in 2015 because many people say that is exactly why he turned his back on europe and doesn't want to release the former prime minister from prison because she would threaten his reelection as president. so the course from now is going to be a political course that is steered very carefully but the president and it all depends on how much this protest can
