[video clip] >> the president watched the bloody attack unfold on fox news from his dining room. members of congress and other government officials stepped into the gigantic leadership void created by the president's chilling and steady passivity that day. what you are about to see's previously unseen footage of congressional leaders, both republicans and democrats, as they were taken to a secure location during the riot. you will see how everyone involved was working actively to stop the violence, to get federal law enforcement deployed to the scene to put down the violence and secure the capitol complex. not just democrats like speaker nancy pelosi and house majority leader steny hoyer, but republicans like vice president pence, senate majority leader mitch mcconnell, majority whip john soon, and count to loose -- john thune, and countless others. it is what trump was not doing what he simply refused to do. take a listen. >> we're starting to get surrounded. they are taking the north front scaffolding. >> we're not going to be able to hold. >> at the door has been breached. the people are gaining access into the capitol. >> we have got to get the senate to proceed. what did you think of those efforts by congressional leaders to try to get additional military and police to the capitol to try to clear out the capitol behind the scenes? what did you think about that yesterday? caller: well, they should have had them on hand already. and they should have been there in the first place. before they ever entered or when they started to enter the capitol. that was the fault of somebody in security. that was nancy pelosi and the mayor. they were responsible. and that is what people need to look at, who was responsible for the security. and i don't blame trump -- i do not think it was his fault. it was all set up. host: walter here in washington, d.c., line for democrats. good morning. caller: good morning. i am not a fan of trump, but in all nine hearings, this committee has demonstrated that they are not trying to find it exactly how this riot happened in the first place. the elephant in the room that everyone noticed even in the first hearing is that the capitol was left open and vulnerable to attack, even of the fbi on december 21, 2020, one the former u.s. capitol police chief son about this threat. what is not addressed is in four different videos, u.s. capitol police officers actually left trump supporters inside the capitol. black and white officers allowed and invited them in. who gave these orders and why this committee don't even mention this despite the fact that there are four videos showing this? why have none of these officers been reprimanded? this guy who is a trump supporter, ray epstein, who is this guy? he is instigating trump supporters to go inside the capitol and riots. he was on the fbi most wanted list, photograph number 16, and he was found and identified, and now jamie raskin and others are defending him. is he an informant?
