>> there are a number of features, such as using recycled products such as carpet, cabinetry, things like that. we are using what they call no added formaldehyde wood in the cabinets. the building is largely not air- conditioned, which in our climate, it is benign, so it allows that. that is a green point. >> what about water strategies? >> when you talk about lead certification, a lot of the factors taken into account are things we are able to achieve just by virtue of the outstanding location, walking distance to the best transit hub in the city. we have walking services for just about anything anybody could want. >> we have high efficiency boilers to heat the water. it is a water source domestic heating system. >> what is next to the tower crane? we have a big blue piece. what is that? >> that is a concrete placing boom. that is how i put the concrete up onto the deck. the concrete truck will back into here, go to the hopper. then i have a slight line that runs up the center of the boom. that completes all the dax, walls, and columns with that. >> it must take a lot of power to pu

just like your cabinetry. so you may not want to buy all from one manufacturer, but you want to have them all complement each other even though there could be multiple manufacturers in one kitchen. >> i have a question for you, where do you put the trash in this kitchsnn where would you put the trash? and how do you handle recycling and composting? everybody wants a greenhouse, this is the place to start. >> most people would put it here under the sink but now there's a company, several companies, where you have a pullout cabinet with two bins, put it next to the sink. it would be like this -- >> there it is. >> terrific. >> so you would have your regular trash, plastic bags for the most part, and back here your recycling and composting we use a little green bin on top. any other ideas for composting >> no for cans, for everything. so we have four of them sometimes. one on either side, if you can afford to do it. >> san francisco has mixed recycling. cans and bottles and paper can all go in the same thing and

more modern way, just about any housing type you see painted cabinets, some times we mix in stained cabinetrydoors with glass in them, just pretty features like that but in a more contemporary way, and bathroom, we are seeing lots of people in older homes have tiny tiles or tiles 4 by 4 trend is definitely larger format, 12 by 12 or some times changing it to a 12 by 24. >> quite large. >> yeah, and very cool looking less grout get to show off more tile often tiles will have some texture to it almost like a paint brush has been struck across it or a lineny fabric on it. screened porches are back for awhile it was all about decks in this area it is hot and humid in summer it is nice to have shade. >> great option. >> and bugs that sort of stuff so we are seeing screened porches make a real come back and they are coming back in a nicely finished way almost like an extension of the house, so often times it is off a kitchen, dining room, living room so you want it to be a nice space, we are seeing more elegant sophisticated finishes, maybe fans, you know, the roof is providing shade so really comf
