meteorologist ivan cabrera is at the world weather center. good morning. >> fresh evacuations across arizona at this hour. 582 square kilometer wildfire, the third largest in arizona history continues to rage out of control. they're at 0% containment. that's terrible here. weather conditions will not be helping. here is the fire. we've got all hands on deck here, 1,300 firefighters working the fire, 2,000 personnel are on scene there working at that fire. over 58,000 hectares have now been burned. the fire's getting dangerously close to community which is is why we've evacuated the region there, some of those towns. let's take a look at some of the scenes from eastern arizona as the governor was flying over the state recently there, just to get a good perspective of the scope and the intensity of this fire that's been burning for a week. it's continued to devour the apache national forest out there, again, thousands of hectares have now been completely destroyed. here's the problem with the forecast here as i see it. the winds you want them t

for more, let's bring in ivan cabrera. ivan? >> the worry immediately when i saw the 6 pont 0 was the already vulnerable buildings. we have a lot of buildings scheduled for demolition. with a 6.0, they can go down really easily. there is a big difference and i'll explain in a second. here is the proximate location. anywhere from essentially 9 to 10 kilometers away from the town's center here but the two earthquakes this occurred across the region here, one was a 5.2. then the other was a 6.0. the 6.0, let's go ahead and compare that to february 22nd. it doesn't sound like a big difference. but, remember, the earthquake scale is logarithmic. so a magnitude difference in one unit is significant. what happened between now and february 22nd, essentially multiple what happened today by three, so that earthquake was almost three times as strong as the one that occurred today. the other important factor is the death that occurred on february 22nd, the one that killed over 500 people, that was 5 kilometers. that's a lot of walking and d

our meteorologist ivan cabrera joins us from the world weather center. good morning.les. we've been tracking the storm for a few days, tropical storm, not even a typhoon. just unbelievable. it's reached almost typhoon strength. it's wreaked havoc across asia as a result of heavy rainfall. the system is going extratropical into the yellow sea. a cluster of thunderstorm activity across the western pacific. in the philippines, picture this -- getting half the yearly rainfall in just seven days. that is what was done in manila. they have been left flooded. just incredible here the amount of rain that has fallen in seven days. centimeters at a time. each and every hour, just pounding and pounding. and it didn't even get close. it was the outer bands that fed in with abundant tropical moisture that continued for days at a time. almost a meter of rain and damage, as well, being left in the philippines. they are cleaning up. it's going to take some time. can't recover from rain that quickly. southeast asia also being impacted. this rain from hyma, another tropical storm that
