this morning cal train is investigating a deadly accident. this happened shortly after midnight right near the california avenue train station in palo alto. ktvu's jade hernandez joining us now. she has all the details of what happened. good morning, jade. >> reporter: good morning. one man is dead this morning and cal train is investigating. we're live at the california avenue cal train station in palo alto. you can see this right here. this spokeswoman spoke to us about half an hour ago. the train that struck the man was the last southbound train out of san francisco at midnight. no other trains or schedules were effected and all regular service resumes this morning. those on board the train, the passengers, crew and train engineer were not hurt overnight. they were delayed. another train picked them up here at this california avenue cal train station around 2:45. this is the first fatality of the year. last year there were 11 deaths in cal train. the year before that 19. and in about 15 minutes we're scheduled to interview cal train's spok
