want to echo, both brian and daves comments and stress that we are fully committed to working with cal train and working with our partners to land on a solution that works for both commuter and high speed service, and in the corridor for san francisco and for us, between san francisco and gill roy, to maximize our ability to deliver the service and, fully integrated operation that accommodates that 50 year vision that we are trying to arrive at. and so i think that as they have pointed out, we are in the midst of having those conversation and i think that we are off to a good start and we will be having a formal technical conversation at the end of this month and out of that, we will be able to hopefully land on several scenes that we can vet with the partner and bring to the policy boards for their consideration, with a menu of possible solutions to how we will get to that future operation, in the corridor. and so i am very confident, that we can get to that positive out come and i will be happy to answer any questions. >> and thank you. >> director? >> this is very interesting to me

and having solution that works operationally for cal train, and the service. and in terms of a service pattern, and in terms of cost, is important because that is our economy. and that is our environment and if there is something that is problem matter in terms of operational costs, we are going to be paying for it as institutions and as taxpayers, and so that is going to be a critical element as well. and another critical element that the board has already mentioned. is about the importance of being able to send all of the cal train trains into the transbay, and the, and there are three times as many jobs around transbay as the rest of the line combined. and the transit oriented development is going to if anything, grow that, and that will have the connection to bart, and to muni and to the rest of the regional transit system and so all trains into the transbay and maximize that service, for the long term. so, we are glad to see the collaboration on a potential solution, and look forward to a solution that will be the best possible win/win for all to get the

corridor and of the first two projects in the bay area, and we expect that the electrickfiation of the cal train is just the first step in that electrified operation and follow on high speed service in the corridor will be a natural evolution of rail operations in the corridor and two distinct systems putting together their own program and so we have been very much working on an integrated process over the last couple of years, and you are right, the time line, is short. and that is part of the reason that we are working on the regular basis to get together, between the authority and cal train, as well as our funding partner and mtc and the ta and our other partners to insure that we are moving as quickly as we can, and given those time constraints. >> okay, thank you. >> and i think that one of the, and director lee can speak to this, one of the big challenges for cal train, is that the notion that they will be running dual service for many years, and which would make the higher platform more difficult which is why, i think that it could present a significant funding challenge if we were

cal tran has halted a construction project. one that caused massive delays on the bay bridge last week. tara moriarty is joining us live from treasure island to tell us what you commuters can expect this morning. tara. >> reporter: that would be a commute that is nothing like friday's commute thank goodness. there was some massive delays. it doesn't mean we won't have any traffic. that will still be in place. but if you take a look behind me, the problem with the steel plates that are on the western span of the bay bridge. they have been removed. saturdays morning crews got rid of the plates temporarily until they can find another way to fix the bridges. that is because drivers were slowing down so much that drivers were backed up for an hour. >> i came across the bridge around 6:30 and it was backed up all the way through the maze. >> the commute was messed up. i come back and knot from oakland from time to time. when i heard about the commute i went to the san mateo bridge. >> reporter: the reason the joints needed to be repl
