cal osha says the ride will remain closed until the investigation is complete.y say that's for a couple of reasons. to preserve any evidence there may be on the ride as well as make sure it's safe. >> reporter: it's been closed since the accident on friday night. sources say that's when an employee reached down to pick up a cell phone off the platform and was hit by the train, pulling into the flight deck station. a passenger on the ride also suffered a hand injury. >> i hope the guy's okay and i hope that they figure out that the ride is safe and that they can open up again. >> the employees' injuries are being described as traumatic. and that person's name is not being released. today, cal osha says they interviewed witnesses. >> on any given ride, there is, you know most likely it's going to be safe. but, you know we're always looking to make sure things are safe. there are many parts of a ride that are -- they have to remain safe in terms of the procedures and the equipment. and, you know the structure and the operations and everything about it. >> park offi

cal osha has two investigators looking into what exactly happened out there. take a look at the scene after the accident last night. see investigators already at the flight deck ride with flashlights. officials with the park say a worker was hit by an oncoming train. witnesses tell us worker was trying to retrieve an item for a guest when he was hit. he was rushed to a hospital with traumatic injuries. the reports say the worker is now in critical condition at valley medical center. witnesses who saw the accident say the man was bleeding and not moving. >> started walking on the ride and then the train car hit him. >> how do you know he's the maintenance guy? >> he had the maintenance shirt and then he was bleeding from his head. it was really scary. >> great america released this statement today.
