a two-alarm fire and this is near the cal state hayward- contra costa center campus. looking at that video from last night you can see that the fire broke out in the dry vegetation, plenty of it in these hills. and wind was definitely a factor in this fire. the wind was kicking up, causing a fire to spread close to the homes. firefighters then called in additional units to fight the fire. the good news is that no one was injured in this fire. but, you know, wind once again an issue as it is for many wildfires during this time year. dispatchers had reported that when they were talking to their crews here in the field, they could hear the wind on their cell phones and on their radios. so once again, no evacuations were forced. some left on their own. no one was injured, no damage to structures. arson fires were sent out although they don't suspect arson. but the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. this is a strong reminder now we are in fire season. we have had more rain than usual throughout the spring meaning more vegetation. so reminder to you in your own area
