there, the students are being loaded on to buses and taken to a middle school or taken to cal state university san bernardino where their parents will pick them up. the authorities won't tell us exactly what the motive is except that it appears to be some type of domestic dispute. in fact, the associated press is reporting that the teacher that was killed did not the suspect who came inside the classroom. one parent that was interviewed was very surprised this happened because they said the school is very safe. you have to go through a gate first off and then to actually get inside the school compound, you have to be let inside a door. the fact that somebody walked in with a gun, they say, is hard to believe. yet as we know, it did happen. we're talking about some 575 students at north park elementary school, shep, that is broken down 30% hispanic, 30% white, 30% white. most of them are students in need. we should point out police have not said anything about these two students who were taken away and believed to be in critical condition being shot. that has not come up. we believe they were s

cal state university san bernardino is also in the area. it is also on lockdown. you can see from the demeanor of the students, they have all been moved outside on the playground. at some point in time, they will let their parents kofpl and pick those students up when they believe the campus is safe. about 522 students at north park elementary school, the balance is pretty even. about 35% hispanic, 30% black, 30% white students here. as far as demographics, this is about 74, 75% of the students are those students who are in need, they're from low income families. as you pan out here, we don't have specific details, but we do know from the police chief that somebody, a suspect, walked into a classroom and opened fire. this is being called a murder/suici murder/suicide. how others were struck remains unclear. as we get more information, we are on the phone with the police chief. we are on the phone with the school, as well as our fox affiliate, fox 11, which is now reporting that there are two dead. we believe the suspect and the target, the victim. and that two are

cal campus.( pam ) stashing money. the serious allegations being made against the university of california system and how the allegations are conjuring up memories of a previous scandal involving another stategency. there's angry reaction to a new report claiming that the university of california 'hid' 175- million dollars from the public and lawmakers.... catherine heenan is here with details from the california auditor's office... (catherine) one reason this is making a lot of people angry -- the reportedly 'hidden' fundwas there even as the u-c system was raising tuition and asking the state for more money.... in a scathing report - the state auditor says the office of u-c presidentjanet napolitano created an 'undisclosed' budget over four years....so the money could be spent with little or no oversight. napolitano says it wasn't 175-million...it was more like 38 million. and arguesthat's not much to stash away for unexpected expenses. this is reminding some people of the hidden california parks fund scandal...from 2012.that's when the state parks director and her second in command were fired...after officials discovered the department was sitting on "hidden assets" totalling nearly 54-m
