today we could learn the hunt for a killer in calaveras county could be over.icials say a man who is in jail this morning could be linked to the stabbing death of an 8-year-old valley springs girl. the 42-year-old man was taken into custody in plaser ville about 45 miles from valley springs. today in the bay's marla tellez joins us with more on the potential break in the case. >> good morning. we have been covering this story since it first broke over the weekend. 8-year-old leila fowler stabbed to death inside her valley springs home on saturday. since then, this small community has been on edge without any movement in this case. that is until now. investigators saying they are looking at this man, 42-year-old jason wayrynen as a possible suspect. wayrynen was arrested yesterday morning in placerville which is just 15 miles north of valley springs after trying to kidnap this little girl right here. she's just over a year old, tried to kidnap her from her own home. this man is facing kidnapping and burglary charges. his arrest comes less than 12 hours before th
