it happened on calaveras road in milpitas. once at the scene firefighters used rescue glides...lastic used to slide a large animal along a rough surface... to remove the horse safely from the drainage ditch. rescuers say the horse only suffered a few scrapes. ( robin ) happening today... p-g-and-e crews will be back at work in santa rosa installing underground electric and gas lines in coffey park. the work began yesterday morning. we showed it to you live right here on the kron 4 morning news. p-g-and-e is working with the city to replace all of the cables and transformers destroyed during the north bay firestorm. the will be installing 13 miles of electric cable and 15 miles of new gas mains and service lines. city officials say there is still a long way to go in the rebuilding process... but they are happy with the progress so far. it happened yesterday on calaveras road in milpitas. the scene firefighters used rescue glides...which are sheets of plastic used to slide a large animal along a rough surface... to remove the horse safely from the drainage ditch. no word on how the horse made it's way into the ditch. luckily the large animal only suffered a few scrapes. the accident happened earlier this month in a shopping center on west calaveras boulevard. suspect's car is described as a white toyota tundra with gray primer on the tailgate with "piercey toyota" paper plates. (grant) in the east bay.... richmond police have a one million dollar arrest warrant for this man -- vernon dowell. police say dowell shot and killed a man after getting into an argument with him last week. the cause of the argument is still under investigation. dowell is about five-- ten-inches and weighs about 170 pounds. police say dowell is armed and dangerous and should not be approached. (vicki) on the peninsula-- eight baby ducklings are recovering after being rescued from a storm drain in san mateo. the peninsula humane society says the baby ducks were found trapped in mu at the bottom of a concrete drainage ditch... right off of highway 101 on the poplar avenue exit. a driver found the ducklings and called the humane society. the ducklings will be released back into the wild once they are older and self-sufficient. lawrence karnow: we enjoyed partly cloudy
