and you're north calhoun. the weather center forecast is finally showing a substantial chance of it. actually, we did see those thunderstorms last week. they sparked a couple of new wildfires up in the sierra nevada for us here. they did offer some brief showers. but what we've got saturday night into sunday morning isn't really coming along with the lightning potential like we did see last week. this is your morning in san jose. not the brightest of mornings just yet. it will brighten up those the sun does begin to come up more and more. we are in the midst of some low gray hanging out for a lot of the bay area this morning. that's going offer a bayside city. so beside inland areas, good, sunny skies. coastal areas. yeah. you're going to stay on the greater side through this one high pressure is built up across the region but only temporarily this is going to weekend as we work our way through the rest of this week and that's going to allow this low pressure dip in the jet stream to make its way on into the p

. >> you're north calhoun. the weather center forecast here locally, maybe showing clear skies.enly. certainly not so clear. there's your smoke right there. and we are seeing plenty of that as we do see new territory getting burned by the caldor fire towards areas like myers, which on the story just a second ago as well as south lake tahoe. so air quality. good for us. not so good for neighbors up in the mountains where winds at right now. well, it's been pretty still so far this morning around the lake itself. but all you have to do is head above lake level and we've seen consistently breezy conditions along those mountain slopes and that's going to be true into the afternoon. winds actually picking up at lower elevations later on today and with the red flag warning in effect till 11:00pm tonight. we do have another very breezy day ahead of us before calmer conditions starting tomorrow. same winds, as i mentioned, keeping as good as far as their quality goes in the bay area. look at all that green indicating good all across the region and that paired was really comfortable temp

nice to see some of those mountains in the distance to now your north calhoun, the weather center forecastthe bay area is showing a hot sunny and hazy day for us high pressure responsible for all of it. even though we do have that smoke plume heading to the north and east away from us on the other side of the sierra nevada. this high pressure ridge is actually pushing it all the way around through utah circling back to arizona and then we're still getting a wildfire in smoke impact here in the bay area from that southeasterly flow. you can see that smoke having drifted into the bay and another spare the air alert in effect. we've seen a gradual expansion of this yellow indicating moderate air quality through the morning. now stretching from san jose through eastern portions of the east bay through solano county. a couple spots in the north bay too. in addition to the spare. the air alert. a heat advisory goes into effect at noon for all of solano county as well as the central valley as temperatures in these areas rise, especially beyond the triple digits. you'll see that antioch. it's up t

so there's one little positive thing to hold on to your north calhoun.cast this morning is showing you the gray skies overhead bay bridge there looking. all right. we are definitely seeing the return of not just the low gray but also some hazy conditions to that. you will notice as you step out there, air quality is going to deteriorate because instead of having that generally persistent southwesterly wind. that was pushing smoke out of the region and unfortunately spreading the caldor fire. we traded in for still some breezy conditions at times but less windy conditions overall, this is a bit of good news around the caldor fire. you can see we do have some fairly calm conditions, especially around lake level. there are some spots out there that have been breezy like belmont juvt west of the lake and we are certainly seeing a lot of smoke settling into south lake tahoe. this morning. most of that blaze, the new fire spreads just been south of south lake tahoe itself. i are certainly one of those areas that crews have actively been putting out spot fires

northern tier the lake right here, an area where there really inviting guests to get back to your north calhounnter forecast back here at home is still showing some haze with us. it's one of the reasons why we do have an air quality advisory, but no spare the air alert at the coast today. yeah. you can expect some stay with us. bayside areas, on the other hand, will see some nice burn off occurring into the afternoon. big picture set up. we've got to dips in the jet stream. the first is actually right on top of us right now offering us this cool break from the heat high pressure briefly builds back in tomorrow and then we see another system approaching that will leave the pacific northwest with some good rainfall. even areas of northern california seeing some widespread and at times heavy rain there near the oregon border as this system pushes further south into saturday evening, we will start to see a losing a little bit of steam resulting in light rain for the north bay and then breaking apart for the rest of us. so it does look like sunday morning will come along with good light rainfall for

you're north calhoun. the weather center forecast this morning showing a grey start.evel stratus just pushed in right over the bay. this is sitting above us though. so visibility for the most part is just fine. even areas like san jose, though, are looking at views that. yeah, it's a sunny just yet. we will get sunshine for inland and bayside areas come the afternoon. our coastal spots, though. i'm sorry it's going to be a lot like yesterday, which is some bits of sunshine. mostly cloudy skies hanging out at the coast through the day. now when we're talking about rainfall here, we're really talking about saturday night very late into early sunday morning. this system is already having an impact across the pacific northwest and we'll drop into northern reaches of the state come tomorrow morning. this is going to be our biggest impact here in california. right along the north redwood coast right here. some really needed rainfall in solid showers up there. this is going to help with wildfire activity that does remain up to our north now as the shower activity makes its w

you're north calhoun. the weather center forecast this morning is showing a lot of sunshine out there. but if you look outside at the horizon line from san jose. there's your haze out there, something that we are going to be breathing in and a spare. the air alert is in effect now at the coastline today. some of our best air quality some of our coolest temperatures also, once the fog clears that we have out there. it is going to be a mostly sunny day right around the caldor fire. one of these areas that has been contributing to the haze that we're breathing in from that wildfire smoke. you can see that we do have calm winds in the vicinity of the blaze and zooming in on some of those issued areas like myers in south lake tahoe. more populated areas that the fire just rushed towards last week. we are seeing generally a wind out of the north and west this morning pushing that blaze into higher terrain rather than towards south lake tahoe itself. that's a bit of good news. it is hot and dry up there, though.

. >> you're north calhoun. morning is showing the bay bridge sitting under some low gray. we're seeing brightness working its way down for a lot of the bay area. this point further to the north of san francisco is where we're actually seeing a few sprinkles this morning after some of those earlier on for the rest of us low pressure area steering our way. some instability which overnight tonight will result in the potential of some dry lightning possibly now we have seen some needed light sprinkles this morning. it doesn't amount to much a few sprinkles in sf east of san jose and oakland. we did see some decent rainfall out towards brentwood in antioch this morning. much of that has shifted to the north of the golden gate so far those on and off clouds that we have this morning will partly cloudy. one ahead of us, what we will be seeing later on is that chance of thunderstorms. so this is 03:45am in the morning tomorrow. you do see those isolated pockets of a thunderstorm activity. most likely between the hours

your north calhoun, the weather center forecast is showing some sunshine up above. your low gray that's hanging out across the east bay. this is your berkeley hills for you. a lot of us across the bay are seeing just a thin marine layer. and for san jose has resulted in a few spots of low visibility. same for you around a san bruno out towards daly city to. so just watch a couple of those spots near the coastline. high pressure is still built up across the region. but right behind it, we eventually do have a descending dip in the jet stream that is going to bring us quiet. the cool down tomorrow. we're already going to see this weakening high and by friday we'll start to see the evidence of the school system pushing in friday night. you'll start to see heavy rainfall across the pacific northwest into early saturday morning. this dips on into the very northern tier of the state. this is great news for our northern neighbors up in areas like humble del norte a siskiyou to hama counties. these areas right here are going to see some valuable rainfall into early hours on

we are looking at a fairly clear view near north calhoun. in san francisco. definitely some low gray hanging out above us. but visibility has been fine. we are going to be seeing conditions clearing out for areas like the gulf coast and also not so clear for us here in the bay area. as we look at some haze working its way back into the picture. this is partly because that southwesterly winds that had been sweeping out. so much of that wildfire smoke isn't as president anymore. so now we have that opportunity for some of this to settle back in good news for the sierra nevada, though, as that southwesterly flow starts to diminish will see at at least a little bit less of that southwesterly winds just relentlessly pushing the the caldor fire to the north and east towards south lake tahoe towards communities like myers. it's still breezy, as you can see in belmont. but these winds are going to be a bit more erratic. and that means that we will be seeing. still a tough time for fire crews up there certainly nowhere close to being out of the woods

but hey, maybe a little side hope looking outside this morning in your north calhoun, the weather centerross the bay area. you look at this and think, oh, maybe there could be a little rain out there. but we all know better here in the bay area that this is just run of the mill kind of low marine layer that we do see this time of year. and that's certainly the case across the bay area this morning. we're going to see that mixed with some haze today as wildfire smoke does gradually work its way back into the picture that's going to be true on into the upcoming weekend to now focusing on the caldor fire for a second. we have seen winds coming down in the sierra nevada which is some good news. we're actually pretty calm in the vicinity of the blaze, especially in lower elevations. most fire growth. this happened just west of fallen leaf lake last night and then south of the city of south lake tahoe right above slopes of heavenly good news in that it hasn't dropped into south lake tahoe just yet of course, areas further south from there like myers have seen a couple of spot fires pop up. and

now, as for your north calhoun, the weather center forecast this morning. it is calm out there.er today, especially tonight, overnight hours tonight where we see that potential thunderstorms popping up. there's a big reason for that. it's this low pressure area that's going to be pushing on in bringing with it that potential of convective a t that's the upward building of thunderstorms that would bring us any sort of rainfall, but more likely that dry lightning daytime hours today are going to be nice and dry. you do see that line of showers to our west or at least that line of cloud cover that will result in that shower potential. so radar is quiet this morning. we actually have a really nice day on tap for us. look at what we have come the evening tonight, though, really around 10 to 11:00pm. we'll start to see that potential of thunderstorms on the rise line of thunderstorms possible for the east bay as well as the north bay but also across the rest of the bay area. you see those deep green and yellow thunderstorms pushing through - during overnight hours. a company by some r

you're north calhoun.ther center forecast this morning as show nonstop gray across the bay area. this deep stratus that stretching right on over the bay into our inland areas too, has kept us pretty cool throughout the course of the morning as we work our way through the afternoon. the stratus will be gone, but you'll still notice the hayes. here's some good news for you. conditions have improved a lot at least weather wise right around the calendar fire. so we are seeing much calmer winds out there. and when we do see winds especially around those areas that are critical like south lake tahoe and myers. we are mostly out of the exact opposite direction. they had been, which is out of the northeast. so instead of that southwesterly wind pushing the fire closer and closer to populated areas. this wind is actually pushing at the opposite direction into areas that are already burned and to less populated area. so this is really good news for those crews there. and of course, for those affected, even our wind
