this week is wildfire preparedness week in california.state agencies want us all to learn how to prevent fires and how to escape them. this year, the theme is meeting the mission through partnerships , highlighting the importance of collective responsibility and managing wildfire risks. cal fire lnu in sonoma county geared up for the week, with crews taking part in the annual fire preparation exercises. so this week we'll be participating in a readiness drill at issue camp with many of the crews throughout the state. this readiness drill is to test the preparedness of our crew. it consists of tool outs, hikes, and a line cut to see where we're at getting ready for fire season. and we've been practicing for that for the last few weeks. cal fire says it has made significant progress on fuel reduction and mitigation, and last year, more than 105,000 acres of fuel and grasses were treated. and cal fire says fuel reduction projects are essential to slowing down and reducing the intensity of wildfires. well now is the best time to get ready for
