we are joined now by claire day with the alzheimer's association's northern california and nevada chapteraire thank you for taking the time today to talk about this really important issue for so many families. your report. projects that the caregiver workforce here in california needs to increase by 29% by the year 2030 in order to meet demand and the number of patients that we expect there will be with alzheimer's or dementia at that time. how do you how do we get to that point where we have enough professional caregivers? yeah thank you so much, and it's a growing need across the country , but certainly here in california we feel that absence of the direct care force. i think what it means is that we have to think about ways to not only attract people into this field. this is a field. that is not only a growing field, but a very important one and the care of people living with dementia, but also retaining them so thinking about ways to ensure that there compensated fairly to make sure that they get the training that they need to do their job. caring for someone with alzheimer's or demen
