. >>> new at noon, the california public utilities commission is talking about security at pg&e substations including an attack at the metcalf station in the south bay last year. katie utehs attended today's meeting and joins us live. good afternoon, katie. >> reporter: good afternoon, tori. pg&e is calling the metcalf attack a game changer for the entire industry. while they wouldn't go into the specifics of the attack, they are saying that whoever group of people or a person who attacked the station knocked out communications lines before going for the power system. here's the time line. around 1:00 a.m. on april 16th of last year, someone cut the at&t fiber line located at substeauks. this sub steauks is south of san jose between 101 and monterey road. ten minutes later, another line was cut. at that point, land line and cell service went down including much of the 911. between 1:30 and 1:45, someone fired shots into the equipment, damaging 17 transformers and six circuit breakers. when questioned, the pg&e senior would not comment how important the targets are to the system. he would ow
