here's one near calistoga light rainfall.we have seen some hail and pretty impressive cell that was hovering near napa for quite some time earlier this evening. overnight lows dipping down into the 40s. not too chilly tonight. we will see a few spots into the 40s. we're not going to likely see freezing temperatures. what we are going to see is a couple of linger showering for the northern portion of the bay areas and areas north of the bay. most of us beginning to dry out. we got this area of low pressure building in. but it's a flat ridge. not so much to kick these clouds out of here. we are still going to see clouds for tomorrow and lingering on into wednesday as well. futurecast shows that picture, although fewer clouds south of san jose. starting out in the 40s warming up throughout the day in the south bay. still on the cool side of average. more clouds the further north you travel especially for the north bay. mainly cloudy on tuesday. staying mainly dry throughout the week especially as we near the end of the week. tem

we have already seen that early this morning in the calistoga area. dry on thursday, this is beautiful. it's textbook perfect. this is the core of the center of the area of low pressure. that's the frontal boundary sweeping through right now. a lot of instability with the passage of this front. that's why we have the potential of a thunderstorm especially in the central valley today. i have to keep a watchful eye on the sacramento, stockton areas. unsettled except for thursday then more potent system rolls in. here's your futurecast. a bit of a break. if we see some sun, that's not a good thing because there's a lot of instability and that's when we could see that thunderstorm pop with cloud-to- ground lightning. this is the front slicing through tomorrow morning with potentially some heavy downpours then we begin to dry out during the afternoon hours on wednesday, dry day thursday, then that more potent system rolls in on thursday overnight to your friday. another inch of rain expected throughout the state. watchful eye throughout the central valley
