seeing a strong northerly winds yet again, which you can see showing up in areas like atlas peak in calistoga going to push more and more smoke, especially right above the bay area down our direction. that low pressure area that resulted in are subtle dip in temperatures is going to exit the region. high pressure means sinking air now. so a lot of that smoke that continues to drift our way is going rather than push out of the region sink into it. so even though it's sitting above us for a lot of our coastal in bayside areas for the time being will sink in towards the bay come the afternoon. we see pockets of unhealthy air quality out towards eastern alameda county and across the very northern tier. the bay area. most of us are being spared by that cool marine layer this morning. but as that dwindles, we will see smoke settling back in. so even though you're seeing a lot of green or yellow on the map right now. it's no guarantee it's going to stay that way into the afternoon. in fact, i'm expecting just the opposite 60's 70's for your daytime highs in san francisco 60's right at the coastline.
