regarding the true traffic calming program from the sf mta. there was one survey but the funding was cut to $6,000 and the equivalent of -- p sac san -- went on a tour of the san francisco neighborhood read by dr. marty mcentire. following our tour i am happy to announce that most of the crosswalk have been newly painted continental style and curb ramps have been installed around the campus. the chief of public safety and the master plan manager presented to -- unfortunately usf is delaying the plan for moving forward and in my opinion has demonstrated a clear disregard for public safety and public health: sf mta submitted plans six months ago and hasn't received the plans or comments for final review. until they receive the plans from usf they're unable to provide plans-- yet the usf website doesn't mention pedestrian safety once. in contrast we-- and in addition the sf mta has done a wonderful job. in addition our committee -- i recently joined the sf transportation committee and focuses on financial constrained scenarios for the plan and ev

for the purpose of the strategy that includes the pedestrian cip program and traffic calming program and traffic signal program and this is to provide transparent in what we can do and accountability so within the five year window somebody could see what intersections are we taking care of it and what areas of the city you expect improvements to happen. just our current cip is the fiscal year 13 and through 17cip and includes 350 projects with 30 federal and state and local funds and one being proposition k but there are 140 fund types and those are restrictions on time, type of project and program which means different sources have different rules and sometimes it's difficult to put a package of funding sourcing together for large projects and we take that into consideration. for the current cip -- our current program is listed here and school program and traffic calming and traffic and signal program and large at 70.6 million and infusion of 25 million from the prop b bond and during this period we're seeing a high use of prop k for delivery and construction projects in the process

traffic calming so that's something we're going to start now given the interest in improving pedestrian safety and they're happening on major commercial or traffic streets. we wanted to have the resources to address those collisions as well as resources to address the more neighborhood traffic calming needs, and finally road design and slope boulevard and fatal collision involving a 17 year old and a student at forest view. that street that is -- was six lane wide. the state actually on its own initiative decided to narrow the street to four lanes and add a bicycle lane which is a good idea when you have multiple lanes and you reduce some of the lanes it reduces the pedestrian factor. obviously that wasn't enough to prevent the fatal collision from occurring because vehicles whether have six lanes or four are going fast and not yielding sometimes as required by law so we're doing as the department of public works indicate pursuing a grant to make improvements at that location and others and we will work with the state on one of the longest stretches in san francisco without signs or sig
