their next generation of caltrain really to determine how caltrain will operate a blended system in conjunction with high-speed rail on the same corridor, on the same alignment, and doing visioning as well as community interface strategy. the plan will also assess the caltrain organization and governance as it relates to how rails are organizationed nationally and internationally. the work will be done over the next year and a half. there will be significant outreach that occur in the fall of 2018 and early 2019. the next request is from the sfmta to fund the central subway. this is for the budget funding that has been incorporated into the baseline budget since 2008, i believe. we have the acting manager. he'll be giving a brief presentation after i've concluded. this is an r tip funding source, a state funding source that has been committed to this project for years. it can only go to projects with currently awarded construction contracts. we have put together a fund exchange whereby the r tip funds will go into a rail rehab project for state of good repair needs for muni and then the prop k

. >>> caltrain is rolling out a new program. jessica has more on what is in store. >> reporter: if you have a bicycle, you will like this pilot program. it is called bikes board first. people with bikes get to board first. it is launching in palo alto and red wood city. caltrain says a lot of the delays they are experiencing is because of slow boarding and those boarding with bikes. it causes more than 1,000 minutes of delay. caltrain carries about 6,000 people with buyings every day -- bikes every day. they want to make sure they are not slowing down the process. the employees will make sure those guys go in front and get to board first. this pilot program is 5 weeks long. >>> you have probably seen them if you have been to san francisco lately, scooters scattered around sidewalks and streets but new regulations could put an end to the free for all. city officials will discuss a permit process today. if passed, it will go before the full board of supervisors. >>> two months after tens of thousands of students walked out of clas

caltrain is on time right now. ace train has delays. train number 1 has cumanacle problems and it is coupling with train number 3. bart is on time and a good choice. we have an accident at the bay bridge just reported. we are seeing our delays build here. 43 minutes to go from oakland to san francisco because of that wreck. give yourself extra time. it is blocking lanes, just passed where our camera is here. you are backed up into the maze at this point. a new accident reported here in our live shot. this is eastbound 80, not car from carlson. there is a wreck blocking lanes there. it is blocking a couple of lanes in the right shoulder. westbound 80 to the mcarthur maze, 22 minutes. southbound, 101 looking good. northbound side of 101 heading into san francisco, you will see some delays. there is an accident near silver that is still in effect. they are trying to get it out of the lanes. 101 to 282, lanes blocked because of a crash. and we are seeing slow speeds as a result. you can use 280 as an alternate. a lot of rain out there in so

when do the six caltrain runs and the four per hour? they also need to take a look at the capacity of the railroad between san jose and bayshore to see how many trains per hour that two-track can actually accommodate. that will determine how many trains per hour you can get into the salesforce terminal and the fourth and townsend. the two operators in the tjpa need to identify and select a mutual mutually acceptable and workable set of rolling stock and tapingss -- adaptations that will allow those platforms at those stations. the right of way impacts constructing the dtx is a crucial stage of this project development. based on the senior engineer and two operators, they need to review the trade-offs that exist for track and switch designs within the practical limits for low-speed terminal operations. there are also -- i will call it desired criteria but not always can you achieve every element of that design criteria. so there's some flexibility in here, and that's being looked at now. the two operators and the tjpa -- i will have to g

station, and the bayshore caltrain station. now this slide covers the basics of how that happens, and this isn't new, but i wanted to go over it briefly. there are three muni routes that are going to extend out, the 24, the 29, and the 44. also there will be a new service, the 48, which will one to the bayview site. there will be bus rapid transit service. there will also be a candlestick park -- candlestick point express bus to downtown. this center will also be accessible to the primary bicycle facility running through the site and to potential future water taxi service at dry dock four. and finally, there will be a full-time transportation coordinator whose job will be to monitor and manage the project transportation needs and to recommend measures as needed to make sure that transportation goals are achieved. so the point i want to leave you with is just the project's not an island, and we're not planning just for the site but also for the bayview neighborhood and how the bayview neighborhood will participate in the project

the energy recovery building is shown on the left side below the words caltrain, and new maintenance buildings will be built along jerrold avenue, providing a much more neighborhood friendly frontage. here's a rendering of how beautiful this will be, transforming the neighborhood in the future. the biosolids project team is completing the design and we're on target to start construction late summer. i also want to highlight something exciting, the biosolids project was selected for a $625 million loan from the water infrastructure and financing innovation act. this is the largest single allocation of funds in this country, and this went through a large process. it was very competitive, and what this means is we'll have a lot of low interest money to preserve rates for our rate pairs. we are also pursuing a reinvolving interest fund for the balance. with that, let me give you some of the dates we've run through. our draft eir was published in may 2017. responses to commented were published in february 2018. the eir was certified at the planning commission march 8. we raised it at our
