their next generation of caltrain really to determine how caltrain will operate a blended system in conjunction with high-speed rail on the same corridor, on the same alignment, and doing visioning as well as community interface strategy. the plan will also assess the caltrain organization and governance as it relates to how rails are organizationed nationally and internationally. the work will be done over the next year and a half. there will be significant outreach that occur in the fall of 2018 and early 2019. the next request is from the sfmta to fund the central subway. this is for the budget funding that has been incorporated into the baseline budget since 2008, i believe. we have the acting manager. he'll be giving a brief presentation after i've concluded. this is an r tip funding source, a state funding source that has been committed to this project for years. it can only go to projects with currently awarded construction contracts. we have put together a fund exchange whereby the r tip funds will go into a rail rehab project for state of good repair needs for muni and then the prop k

station, and the bayshore caltrain station. now this slide covers the basics of how that happens, and this isn't new, but i wanted to go over it briefly. there are three muni routes that are going to extend out, the 24, the 29, and the 44. also there will be a new service, the 48, which will one to the bayview site. there will be bus rapid transit service. there will also be a candlestick park -- candlestick point express bus to downtown. this center will also be accessible to the primary bicycle facility running through the site and to potential future water taxi service at dry dock four. and finally, there will be a full-time transportation coordinator whose job will be to monitor and manage the project transportation needs and to recommend measures as needed to make sure that transportation goals are achieved. so the point i want to leave you with is just the project's not an island, and we're not planning just for the site but also for the bayview neighborhood and how the bayview neighborhood will participate in the project

this is the redwood city caltrain station you can the train horn sounding (train horn) then the signalsrossing lights turn on watch the woman in the grey run across the tracks ignoring the warning lights just catch a train nats: ambiance here a train just passed and the pedestrian arm is going up nats: ambiance however another train is approaching in a different direction and as the arm comes down the people keep walking during the commute hours, caltrain has something called the baby bullet train . it doesn't stop at redwood city station so it's still traveling at close to 80 miles per hournow what i just showed you is behaviour i highlighted from time to time but what i'm about to show you next i see lots of people crossing back and forth with the rails down in sunnyvale and in redwood city and when you see that what do you say i'm like where is stanley when we need him this is a first for me but watch the guy in the black beanie open the gate and cross the tracks . followed by this man in blue doing the same thing and sprinting across the tracks to catch the train on the other side.
