turning to the regional level, the caltrain business plan is making great progress. this week they conducted a two hour online town hall meeting on youtube. i encourage anyone who is interested in caltrain in the business effort, it is really a once in generation look to see what it is take to realize our vision for high-quality, high-frequency caltrain service up and down the peninsula. that is available. the service vision that they are looking at involves up to potentially 12 trains per hour, and that would be eight caltrain his and eight high-speed rail trains. they're looking at more likely the middle ground scenario, but taking input from the public. it would increase ridership from 65,000 brides a day to 180,000 estimated in 2040. it is not inexpensive. it would take about $25 billion and whole host of investments and tracks and grade separations , maintenance facilities, and the like, as well as our downtown real extension and other complementary investments. caltrain is also looking at organizational changes that would need to happen to realize such a vision

it makes a lot of changes to the corridor around the caltrain station. it has to do with the central subway. however, we ask to filling out exemption for taxis like we have now going north at fourth, at town send making a left to go west on town send. we need to keep that. that is an important turn at times. we lose that, we lose service abilities. >> going southbound at fourth at king. we need that for the baseball games. that is the easiest way to get to the third street cabstands. we have a cabstands on second and third street. there is no easy access to the third street stand. if we make a right turn to third starting from the seventh inning on the traffic is at tortious. it takes up to 10 minutes to get one block where pete's tavern is for us to get to the third street stand we eliminate the ability to use it or go to berry and come up third street. that is five more minutes to get there. at least lift the exemption to get there from the southbound fourth street to make a left turn to king. otherwise we are not going to get it. i won't serve basebal

i have two caltrain insureds, too -- two caltrain shirts, too. so first of all, i went back to the cable car museum, something i have been doing for ten years, and i enjoy it. this agency owns that property. i feel that museum is in need of refreshing. we are watching videos that are about 35 years old, and, yes, it is a museum of historic preservation, but as historic as cable cars are, they are also relevant today. because when i have stayed in the very round north beach in the off hail, i use them on a daily basis. they are serious transportation. i think it is time for us to look at that museum and refresh it so it can be something that people will continue to come to, much as art museums change their exhibits out. i am concerned about the central subway. that subway, when open, will make it easier for me to go to south and market. i hope it doesn't slip any longer. i was reminded of the second avenue subway in new york which was a project about a century in the making, and it only opened finally two years ago. i hope that we can get this don
