we're working with caltrans on these, and we're basically adhering to a standard caltrans wall, but then trying to make these morass net i canly appealing to the neighbors by providing some landscaping on the outside. i've got some slides of those. the other things i'd like to point out that have changed since my last presentation, if you look at the entrance on third street, one of the items that came up as part of our value analysis is that was identified as kind of a problem area as far as circulation for buses coming in, as well as the private vehicles that you still -- that use perry street. so we're redesigned that so segregate the bus traffic from the private vehicle traffic, and we've kept perry street as a two-way street. so we think that's a much better configuration and a lot safer. the other item that we have changed since our last presentation is we've moved the caltrans -- the a.c. transit administration offices over one bay, so they're one bay closer to second street. what that has allowed us is to provide tandem parking for the buses in the previous spot, so that increase

caltrans was supposed to upgrade a six mile stretch but is moving that back now to next week. freeway on and off ramps will be closed during the overnight work once it gets under way. caltrans says it won't close consecutive ramps, and that should help make the detours minimal. >>> and monitoring a tornado, bill what do you have? >> yeah it is the second one, the most current situation in northern california, very similar for what we saw last week, butte county, the tornado warning is dropped. but this one is issued for just southeast of yuba city, the southern end of the system, the earlier -- i'll back it out, you can see the first tornado warning pop out. there it is. as the system develops right outside yuba city, there you get the tornado warning. and it shares a part as it moves into the foothills. look on the lower half, the tornado goes away, the new one pops up, good until 6:45. so we're tracking the severe weather line here, we have reports of visual sightings from chp of tornadoes out towards 99, earlier about 30 minutes ago. a tornado warning in effect now for yuba

caltrans worker was picking up litter along interstate 15 when he was struck by a car. 52-year-old richard gonzalez is the third highway worker to die on the job in 48 days. the driver of the white cadillac that struck him was detained at the scene by the highway patrol. caltrain workers say drivers often ignore the posted signs. >> you see a truck with a sign, arrow pointed this way. they will still come right up on you. it's scary sometimes. but i'll be like there's impact and they want to give you the finger. we're just doing what we told. >> the head of caltrans has ordered a statewide review of safety procedures for highway workers and the c.h.p. will be ticketing drivers who won't slow down. >> it's 4:36 now. it may be tough to hail a cab this afternoon in san francisco. cabbies are planning to stage a two-hour strike beginning at noon. they plan to spend the two hours circling city hall in a protest against new regulations, including one that allows cab companies to charge drivers a 5% fee on rides paid for by credit card. the municipal transportation agency is considering tracking

caltrans crews are racing to finish cleaning up a ceasal fuel spill., you have been following the latest from the traffic center. >> we're still hoping that they clear the accident by 7:00 this morning. but apparently the hit-and-run, there is a picture of the car that was actually involved in the accident. then that caused a chain reaction of a big rig. crashing in to another car. and other vehicles were involved as well. northbound 880 has been closed since midnight. it's expected to be reopened at 7:00 this morning. possibly earlier. a live shot right now. clean-up continues on northbound 880 shut down north of 980. you see having no impact on southbound traffic. that's been getting by through all morning. but i'll taig you to the map to show you what they're doing now with traffic. north 880 shut down here along this stretch. traffic is being detoured to 980. from there you can get from 580 to the bay bridge. another detour is considering 580 altogether. so far, traffic is flowing well. that way you avoid the detour and that 880 stretch. where thin
