i work at caltran's in sacramento at the headquarters level. i am at the corporate level and i don't get involved in district projects that often. on occasion i do, i work at the policy level, and do draft changes to the manuals and move us away from all cars all the time and towards a complete street perspective. and i comment on national guidance documents such as ashto guides and i provide input to the policy documents. and i do provide some technical assistance to the districts, and on occasion, they will ask for my advice on the correct approach in order to provide bicyclists or pedestrians with the same or better level of safety and mobility that we instinctively provide to drivers, and i enjoy sharing information with both our staff and anyone who asks. if anyone would like to know something about our caltran's policy says and free works or if you would like to borrow my slide show and use it, i would be thrilled. i love to share information and i develop research problem statements when i feel more research is needed on a question. such

we submitted two caltrans planning grants. one is a follow-up to the balboa park station that is already being done. it is for two important things. one is to study next-generation improvements for circulation. this is marginal investment to get maximum performance out of these multimillion dollar investments made in transportation over the last 30 years. and also, to fund staffing of the cac for the area, so the people of the bell ballpark area can have a better opportunity to produce it in the process. on the 19th avenue corridor, we are funding a study of potential stranded investment, including the shifting of the m line to the west side to improve connections to major activity generators there, and also, better connections to the bart station. we are looking forward to getting the nod from caltrans and then we will be on our way with those major planning efforts. we are also making progress on the bike county study. we have had a meeting recently with the new chair of the mtc to coordinate the next steps up analysis in th

it is being implemented in cooperation with caltrans and the federal highway administration. goals of 25% for small businesses and 5% for under- utilized or disadvantaged businesses. there are a number of activities that will be included in the work under face to. specifically what is considered the un-bundling of activities that can be broken apart, specifically identified for small and disadvantaged businesses with continuing assistance for certification, as well as assisting in doing technical analysis of the work and mentoring and managing their programs going forward. monthly contact is important to make sure that the goals are stipulated at the beginning of the project are actually being met. the extension of the contract will allow for a number of activities, including promotion of phase one utilization for small and disadvantaged businesses. the phase two program is described briefly under the p3 questionnaire. we will be rolling out a technical assistance program that will assist in technical certification into a series of workshops in cooperation with the federal hi

caltrans has been working on much larger projects in the area. you will see this on the next item. prop aa, as you all know, we were citizen approved for regional vehicle registration fees. we are anticipating $684,000 in revenue to be collected. we also have a $23.5 million in revenue to add to this budget. this is an obligation from the power authority, who happened to receive an award of funds for the transit. funding our cash flow, i will allocate that again in -- at a future date when needed. we are increasing programs and initiatives by $30 million mainly due to projects and radio replacement. you can see that there is also the presidio parkway project. the swap that we made with central subway last march. you have $75,000 for the fta program. you can see vehicle registration fees year, $332,000. removing the $340 million debt issue as anticipated last year, with the increase of $16.5 million in revenue this year, there will be no need to issue the debt for this fiscal year, 2011. with it that, we are seeking a fiscal amendment. supervisor elsbernd: in terms of decreased expe
