that's in southern calvert county, across st. mary's, into the northern neck of virginia.thern part of the eastern shore getting flurries right now. there's another batch of flurries trying to reach the ground in montgomery county across the potomac into northern fairfax and southeastern loudoun county. this is all drifting off to the east and we're going to have a little sunshine breaking out later this morning as cold air continues to come in on an increasingly blustery north wind later today.

we're at the intersection at north calvert and read streets.hey're basically still cleaning up the hot spots after this three alarm fire. some of the -- fire trucks have already started to leave the area. but they still have a few that are still cleaning up. the call came out just before 1:00 this morning. when crews arrived here, the three story brick building was fully engulfed in flames. again this is an end of group commercial building for a local business. now the first, second and third floors were engulfed in flames. heavy fire on all of the floors made it unsafe for firefighters to actually go inside. so that means they had to fight the fire from the outside. now no one was inside the building at the time of the fire. firefighters tell us that there were no reported injuries. and because of the cold temperatures a bus was brought in for shelter to help keep people warm for those who needed it. right now there's still no cause of the cause and investigators are still trying to figure out what happened here this morning. reporting live in

mary's, calvert, on down to the south. that the include culpepper, to could be be a big mohr. on the radar, storm team 4 radar, mainly to the south of our area. in fact, you can see the bubble there? just east of charlottesville, that's luisa, where there have been some records of a bit of snow coming down. we've had reports of a bill of sleet, too, but the bigger radar, you can see an area of low pressure in northeastern georgia. that's what will be moving east-northeastward, so it doesn't move directly over us. it's going to stay to our south. by the time we're doing with the system, the best chance of snowfall before 9:00 p.m., then pretty much it's all east. it does seem to an inch around manass manassas. around areas of louray, la plata maybe an inch of snow. our temperatures a big story not for today, but for tomorrow. we're in the low 40s right now. we'll drop down into the 30s. in a couple minutes, i'll tell you about the possibility of any slick roads for tomorrow morning, and just how low those temperatures will go, something we haven't felt yet this winter. back to

maybe rockville down toward northern charles county, maybe 1 to 2 inches in southern maryland into calvert county down towards fredericksburg. if you're traveling down i-95 in the next two or three hours, you could run into a little heavy band of snow, reduced visibility, and the same thing for you folks going into southern maryland later tonight down 301 or 5. temperatures 38 in fairfax, 39 in reston and centreville and old town. college park is still 41, bowie 39, waldorf down to 38. the big picture, no shortage of moisture here. the problem is the upper winds are taking the system a little to the south and we're still lacking cold air which was never really a classic snowstorm. the cold air was lacking. we are looking at the cold air right on our doorstep here. the heaviest activity is south of town. we're seeing the radar returns go from red, yellow into the magenta and white. that's the rain going to sleet and eventually into snow. it's going to take a while and again the best chance for seeing snow is south of town. now we're seeing snow just north of richmond up toward fredericksbur

mary's county and lower southern calvert to put down maybe a coating in a couple spots. to the beaches it's trying to change inland from rehoboth beach in ocean city. you might see a brief change over there, but the whole thing is pulling over there. sun will be back in the morning. let's show you where it did accumulate. it was all through central virginia, down through south carolina which has been really hit hard with rain. how much piled up down here? enough to shovel if it doesn't melt. it piled up on the roads in richmond quickly, 1 to 3 down there, in the darker blue 2 to 4, but southwestern virginia i did see spots ranging from 7 to 11 inches all pulling out later tonight. beyond this the headline will be if you're traveling down to the south tomorrow, watch for slick spots. we barely got any precipitation here other than a bit of light rain and i think most of that will dry up and temperatures probably won't drop for a little while yet, but clouds will decrease and changes in the extended outlook i'll tell you about in a bit. >>> no snow here, but a viewer sent
