there is a bar in cambridge, massachusetts called grendall's den. i have never been, but it looks great. it looks like my kind of place. this year marks the 50th year in business for grendall's den. it's amazing to hit that achievement, especially this year which is challenging for bars and restaurants everywhere. they had to figure out how to celebrate. they reportedly put together an lp, a vinyl record, all recording songs from the year grendall was founded, from 1971. that's very cool. you can buy a grendall's den onesie for your baby. you can buy a collapsible grendel's den bowl for your dog. for $4 you can buy a grendel'ss. it wasn't until they were open for a few years that they decided they wanted to open their current basement location as a proper bar. and in order to open as a bar, they had to apply to the city for a state-regulated liquor license. and that's where today's gift to you comes from, because back then if you walked out the back door of grendel's den, the next building you would encounter across the alley, little courtyard thing
