we're in a wind tunnel here on one of the main drags in camden. you can look at the american flag now it is blowing away from me, it was just blowing toward us, so, it is gusty winds, in every kind of direction, so when you're in the bus shelter and only the sheet of glass blocking the winds at your back, suddenly the winds hits you in the face. when you have a wind gust at 25 miles an hour, look at the haddon avenue sign blowing. that really makes it feel like your skin will turn numb and frostbite can set in in ten minute. we got like mount evans conditions out here on haddon avenue in camden. you can hear the metal creaking as the street lights bend and blow in this wind. so real tough out here. one of the good signs here at camden county police headquarters is the usual homeless people that you see gathered under the entranceway. none gathered around here today, only four we found at the bus shelter nearby here, in camden, just couple of blocks away. that's good sign. it tells you that the great people, these outreach people, both on each side

the first steps in transforming the face of camden.ws will begin demolishing dozens of abandoned and unsafe properties to date. here's a look at the two neighborhoods at the center of phase one of the revitizlazation phase. this marks redevelopment for the area of camden. >> for those living near the structures that are unsafe, they are instruments of crime and it can't happen soon enough. >> congressman norcross helped to secure funding to get this program off the ground. a total of 600 abandoned properties will be removed from camden. >>> at 4:18 we are learning more about where pope francis will visit during his trip to the u.s. for the world meeting of families in september. the pontiff's first stop is expected to be the nation's capital where he'll likely visit congress and the white house. then he'll head to new york city where he'll speak at the united nations. an archbishop helping to plan the visit said the pope may visit a children's hospital or a juvenile prison while he's in philadelphia. his outdoor mass on the parkway is

. >> camden is making progress in its fight e fight against crime.e county just released crime stats tonight. in 2014 the overall violent crime rate was down 20% while the number of murders dropped 50%. well, that's still about nine times the national homicide rate just two years ago, there were a record 67 homicides in camden. we spoke to freeholder director lewis capella who gives some of the credit to a county government force replacing the city force back in 2014. >> our officers are walking the street, they're on bicycles knocking on doors, saying hello, getting to know the neighborhoods that they're in. it's a real partnership between the residents and the police department. >> camden's mayor says she's confident the city will see more improvements this year. >> tonight, health officials in merce rerks worry more people could get hepatitis a after two women tested positive for the disease this week. we've learned both of those women ate at rosa's restaurant where a worker became sick in november. an employee at the hairport salon tested positiv
