this is the first murder in campbell since 2007. we will try to get more informations, including sound coming up. >> a man was killed in a shooting in police pursuit in hayward. it happened early yesterday morning, the 23 year-old identified as arthur packman was driving erratically on foothill boulevard. one officer stopped him, at pac-man allegedly drove directly at the police car attempting to ram it. the officer fired several shots at the oncoming vehicle, which crashed into the patrol car door. the suspect then got out of the driver's seat and ran a short distance before collapsing from injuries sustained in the crash. his passengers suffered at least one gunshot wound indicted the scene. police say this would not have happened the suspect had just complied with the officer. >> if people just comply from my experience you do not end up in the situation. >> the identity of the passenger has not been released. that was the fourth shooting involving an officer in the bay area this weekend. the first serpent and early saturday morn

he's a teenager who lived here in campbell.fering from gunshot wounds late last night and was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. police got the call at around 10:20. when they arrived, they found 18-year-old richard vega on the ground badly injured. he was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery but was pronounced dead shortly after midnight. police at this point have no suspect description but a witness did see a dark sedan heading east on west vladimir avenue. a neighbor says this street is quiet. it's full of apartments and families and the only trouble he's been aware of recently is some car break-ins. >> usually this is happening somewhere else, when it happens right on your doorstep, it is shocking. >> reporter: this is the first homicide in campbell in nearly six years. the last was in november of 2007. it happened about 2 miles from here on sunny oaks avenue and was also a shooting death. police are asking the public for help. they want to hear from anybody who might have seen a dark vehicle l
