commissioner campos: any other questions? why don't we open this up to public comment. >> good morning again, directors. and the with the bicycle coalition. i want to speak to some particular is here. the adult bike education classes, as you hear, the cac continues to be diligent in their oversight, as they should be. the whole question of black education bike to work day, encouragement, soft programs. we are not building curbs or rail went away. what is the actual benefit? let's make sure we get the best bang for the buck. as the cac reports, we are seeing here and encouragement. for four years, the city was forbidden from making any changes from bikes. no new bike lanes, no new bike racks. certainly, as we buildout and network of bike ways, we have more people riding bikes. we need to educate more. it is a responsibility question more than it is it an option. we ate knowledge there is more evaluation that can and should be done. we are excited about the investment the mta is making with prop k money in the automatic counter

supervisor campos is here. currently, signs are permitted if they do not visually obstruct or detract from the city landmark, are not larger or appear to be more visually prominent than any sign that previously existed in is maintained in good condition. the proposed legislation would change these rules by deleting the requirement that the proposed signs be located in the historic signing district, and they would allow the signs to contribute to the identity of the neighborhoods in addition to the city as a whole. the planning department recommends that the planning commission approved the resolution with modifications. these include changing the name from his direct sign to commemorative sign, remove the sentence from the proposed legislation that says the department meet refer the application for and advising -- for an advisory opinion, and specify that the proposed ordinance, that designation under the section of the planning code does not by itself protected from being obscured or removed from future develo

commissioner campos: any questions? no questions. >> i will briefly mention the three products we are not recommending. the first is the bikeway. the plan was to construct separate bike weighs between baker and scott. it provides a key link between the panhandle and market street. this project was not recommended for tfca funds. the scandal showed construction starting in august 2013 the month before they use the debt binds the issue. we have worked with the sfmta to prepare prop k allocation requests, which you will hear during agenda item seven. this approach will said the construction phase of the project to be very competitive for future tfca cycles or other discretionary programs. publicly available bike parking facility on chavis as at minnesota street. this project exceeding the air district threshold and is an eligible for funds. we want to continue working with project partners and developed a plan to move forward with other potential funding sources. finally, the laguna honda hospital residents and visitors em

supervisor mirkarimi: supervisor campos? supervisor campos: thank you. i was wondering if you could go back to the beginning of your presentation. you indicated that san francisco was missing what, exactly? was it an actual plan? >> the penal code in the california mandate that every county have an intervention program and a child abuse intervention program. are county has the battery intervention program. we have never had a child abuse intervention plan. that is because the numbers we think are small and we have people here from adult probation who can talk about this. we are were look -- we were looking at the numbers. we have around 29 people on probation for criminal child abuse. these are not the families that go through cp yes and are involved in family court. these people go through criminal court and are prosecuted. the council says there should be a 52-week program similar to the battery intervention program for child abuse. when you look around california, many of the county's do not have this program. they don't have it. we try to find other

supervisor campos: thank you. >> good afternoon. my name is susan, the chief information officer for the san francisco police department. i have been with the department for seven months. prior to that, i was in private industry doing i.t. work for the last 25 years. i would like to thank the doctor for including me today. i see some great work on the family violence council. happy to be a part of that. i think i was invited here today to talk about technology and the police department because it is such a critical vehicle for us, and i think there are improvements that need to be made. i will talk about that today. i thought i would give you a brief high level overview of the current status of technology at the police department. it is a much longer conversation and i would welcome the opportunity to have that conversation in another meeting here this one is going to be very short perio. then i will talk about our approach and road map and then answer questions. the current status of technology at the police department, first of al

supervisor campos: i think it is possible to do that. even though we have these great districtwide elections, i think district election still allow you to deal with larger issues. we feel that we certainly have demonstrated that as a board. individual supervisors have demonstrated that. one of the pieces of legislation we worked on last year that we are very proud of is the health services master plan, which is legislation that for the first time has a city like san francisco thinking about the health needs of the city of seoul. -- cities as all whole. it is good for us to know what the health care needs of the city are going to be in the next couple of years or long term. so, making sure those who do planning and other things, that we think strategically about the need citywide and also neighborhood by neighborhood. and we were able to do that and pass that legislation as a district-elected supervisors, even though this is legislation that impacts the entire city in the future of health care in san francisco for many years to come. i th
