annie mccormick is live on campus with more on the pilot program. good morning, annie. >> reporter: good morning, erin, this sparks from complaints of full sometime residents who live around the university they say many of the students that live in off campus housing are becoming a nuisance. long-time neighborhoods are reporting parties at all hours that leave trash behind and that includes students of all ages. campus authorities are imposing stricter rules, that will jump from 500 to $750 and one thousand for a third offense. if you host an out-of-control party it will be $1,500. >>> they cannot assume they can do whatever they want off campus and be disruptive as they have been. >> reporter: this is a two-prong approach because they are implementing a graduate student program where they will be patrolling thursday through saturday night. they will see how this works with the graduate students out in the community and assess over the summer whether or not that works, if it is successful they will implement it full time in the fall. reporting live
