luke's campus for over 20 years. when i first started there, i was a technologist working a couple days a week. it did not take long to realize this was a place i wanted to work. i feel that our patients and my co-workers are family, and everybody is treated like that. as the lead tech in the breast health center, a work with a number of clinics and community groups such as celebes health center, mission neighborhood health center, the lifting of breast cancer agency, and the lyon-martin clinic. for those patients that come to us from those groups, obtaining medical care is often a challenge. because st. luke's is there, in an area that is accessible to them, they get the care they need. our patient population is the first. a lot of people south of market depend on st. luke's to be there. i cannot tell you how often patients expressed their concern about the importance of rebuilding the hospital at st. luke's campus. they want us to continue to be there for them. they trust us to care for them, to deliver high-qualit

luke's campus. as an emissary envoys of the physicians of saint luke, i wish to acknowledge and thank cpmc and the city of san francisco for saving some lives. the blue-ribbon panel achieve by and from all interested parties, medical, political, community, and a remarkable result. over the last two years, the department chairs have been working with architects and planners on our new facility. the medical staff from a supports the proposed plans. as this plan has crystallized, we see it does what it was supposed to do. it preserves critical service lines to a state of the art facility through tertiary distribution of services. st. luke's can access and a bill itself of incredible support from the other campuses, which is already happening. lastly, while maintaining critical inpatient service lines, it also includes a robust plan for the direction medicine is taking, which is an outpatient and preventative care. in all my time, i have never seen the quality of care better than it is today. i am glad

luke's campus and that is really for two reasons. one, definitely my role as medical director of bayview but also as another capacity that i work for cpmc which was when i first started, i also did critical care transport and i had the experience of taking kids in the back of the ambulance from one campus to the next campus to they could have specialized procedure or to have an evaluation done. and just as a pediatrician and as a physician, it's scary. it is much better to have those services all located together in one campus. and that type of high-quality excellent care is the type of care that i want to have available for the patients that i see. the kids that i care for at bayview child health center are roughly 96% medicaid. and none of that is counted as charity care. right? that's the medicaid shortfall that the doctor was talking about earlier. but all of our families have access to the high quality care that we provide to cpmc and in fact, i've been working with the senior management to work on expanding the services that we

my children were born at the cal campus and lived three blocks awhy from the cal campus but now time at st. luke's. that was actually my very first clinic cal experience was at st. luke's. we took care of a juvenile diabetic mother who was 17 and was 27 weeks pregnant and she was coding off and on. so anyway my daughter now is a nurse at the cal campus in the pediatric so we're all pretty much want to support this hospital and make sure that it becomes -- that it is rebuilt so that we have a state of the art hospital. we also have a success story with the ventilators and the first hnhn case was at lukes and the mom and baby were able to go home. thank you very much. >> they said please read this. this is from the dad. i'm very tired. my wife is exhausted. our child was health departmenty. it was an intense 36 hours of childbirth. there are so many ways it could have gone. it was heartbreaking for me to watch my wife who with inhuman strength and endurance push on and on, night and day, night and day. our saving grace was the magnitude of support and competence of the staff. mid wives

if you are not familiar, we currently have a california campus and a pacific campus, and the plan is to build a bigger campus and consolidate those services into one larger hospital at the old cathedral hill spa on van ness, and that is going to have a huge impact, both in terms of the neighborhood in district 2, not only the new campus, but what happens to the pacific and california campus. also, is a huge job creator. we're making sure to do it in a way to we have every constituent buy into the project, create a ton of new jobs, and move forward with a health care system that benefits all of us. otherwise, some of the other issues coming up -- francisco reservoir in russian hill is going to be an issue that comes up. we have a huge project on doyle drive that is getting finished in the next couple of years. we need to make sure we wanted to the impacts. it is going to be a big deal. after leaving here, i am going down there with the mayor and the head of our department of transportation to really make sure we understand exactly what is happening at this point in time in the project
