he's been there in capetown. there's been conflicting information coming out of south africa this morning. earlier we heard that the former leader had surgery. moments ago we heard that it was not surgery, this was in fact a planned visit. what can you tell us? >> reporter: well, i've spoken to high-level government officials, people extremely close to the family as well. everybody is saying the same thing. he's been monitored over the last couple of months. his military doctors have been watching him every day since the last time we reported on this last year. they've decided that he needs to be moved into the hospital as a precautionary measure but no invasive treatment. he's basically been put in a hospital as a precautionary measure. they expect him to stay overnight. they are monitoring that particular condition of his. and he might be released today. >> are you hearing that he is in good spirits as well? >> reporter: that is correct. i've heard that he has indeed, he's awake. he's been chatting to people. h

he takes refuge in the american consulate in capetown, south africa. the c.i.a. then takes him and brings him into this safe house, which is where they do their interrogation of the bad guys. ryan reynolds plays this low-ranking c.i.a. agent who is sitting there in the safe house. suddenly they bring in this rogue criminal guy. the most wanted c.i.a. spy. now they get ambushed and reynolds and dezel are on the run together. except for now, he is trying to get into his head and saying why was the safe house ambushed? who knows? there is a great line in the trailer where reynolds says "you're not going to get in my head" and he says "i'm already in your head" and i wanted more of that intrigue. instead we get lots of car crashes, things that go boom, gunshots that literally made me jump in my seat. i wanted more of that interplay between the two actors. >> kind of "training day-ish"? >> yes. i think you hit the nail on the head. it takes itself too seriously. it is grainy film stock. and the whole -- >> stars? >> two stars. i would say wait until dvd. >> "the vow."
