we're going to start with billy house who is joining us from capitol hill. ews. let's start with the weather. because that's kind of the -- one of the big stories today. how much difficulty are members going to have getting to the capitol? guest: most of the republicans stayed through the weekend after speaker mike johnson's re-election to that post. so the republican side seems -- the bedchecks seem pretty good there. democrats were doing bedchecks as late as this morning and they will show up in great numbers too. so it looks like it's going to be a pretty good turnout. maybe not a complete turnout but a pretty good one for this. host: what evidence are you seeing of the increased security? guest: oh, it's everywhere. combined with the fewer staff members and other traffic in the building from rank and file staffers and other people, you do have thousands, literally hundreds of a.t.f. officers, capitol police officers, bomb squads, help from other locales nearby. d.c. and even units from the new york state -- new york city police department. so it is this s

let's go to ammon on capitol hill. with the election certified by congress, trump is looking ahead to getting his agenda passed including immigration, closing the border, tax cuts, energy reform. it is what trump is calling one big beautiful bill. he wants to get a ton of his nominees confirmed, some of them quite controversial. does trump have the votes for all of this? >> it remains to be seen. the policy will be enormously complicated and they will have to deal with complex rules, particularly the united states senate to do it in a process that allows them to pass it on party lines. they have slimmest of majorities particularly in the house. all of this is raising questions. what trump wants to do, you're right. raising the national debt limit with spending cuts as part of one big package. any of those issues would dividecons on how to proceed. a lot of republicans are concerned about the approach and want to divide it up including senator john thune. lindsey graham is also concerned about the big approach and says

let's get right to our senior capitol hill correspondent, garrett hake. garrett, the big question is what happens next? well, kate, that's something of an open question right now. you pointed out that johnson had almost no margin for error. this vote total, if it holds up right now means he will have exceeded it. he could lose one vote. he has at this moment lost three. but the vote remains open and conversations are continuing on and off the floor. in fact, even around me, in this hallway about 20ft from the house chamber, as johnson and his allies try to determine what these holdout republican members would like to see from him what they want, perhaps in exchange for their votes or how they can get to yes, because no other work can be done by the house until a speaker, whether it be johnson oror someone else, is elected. that fact has been johnson's backstop in this process, with the cerenial vote counting and certification of the electoral college results expected and set to happen on monday, that cannot go forward until there is a speaker. johnson has
