the community of capitola continues to recover from the damaging january storms . ktvu is james torres explains why a routine beach cleanup today meant so much to volunteers. this quickly turned into a fun way to spend sunday morning at the beach. the city was hoping they'd get at least 100 volunteers out here today, and they certainly got what they asked for. this is our playground. clean up the beach, helping the city assist with getting all the driftwood and rest the garbage off the beach. capital is village. it is like cheers. everybody knows your name. went through some changes . some places were just hit way harder than others from the missing section of the wharf. two missing sand on the beach from storm erosion, all a mess. weeks of storms and january left behind. capital is mayor says it takes a village to stay resilient. i think it's all a part of the big recovery effort for the village, the businesses our city as a whole. so everybody is trying to come together and keep you know good spirits. alive beach cleanups here happened regularly. this is an organ
