first one is lois capps. lois has really been an example and role model for how to be the quinns at the malcongresswoman. she's generous, she's classy, hardworking, collaborative, she's never afraid to take a stand up for people who are in need. one of the things about lois that we all know, she has a lock on the nicest member of congress award and that's for a really good reason. she's been very helpful to me and my staff from the minute i came to congress. came a few years after she did. and always since then they have been helpful whenever we needed them. i certainly will miss her leadership, her perspective as a nurse and health care advocate, and our region's voice on the energy and commerce committee. she's always looked out for and she has delivered for women, for kids, consumers, and anyone who's had problems with health care coverage. on that committee, she really has been a leader on the environment and a leader in promoting clean energy and green technology. everybody knows lois here on the floor.
