cara lui shows us it won't be just holiday travelers who will be driving a lot this week. >> this holiday long weekend, 4.8 million californians are expected to hit the roadways. >> hopefully everybody is conscious of nice driving habits and what have you. >> reporter: bay area residents we talked to hope everyone will keep safety top of mind. >> i guess i worry most about the drunk drivers. that's the first issue that comes to my mind. >> people -- just the other day, i saw an accident up near clayton because a man was on his phone texting. >> reporter: in contra costa county, officers say there have been four fatal accidents in recent months involving people who chose not to wear seat belts. two of those crashes happened on 680 just last week. >> their vehicles overturned and because they are not wearing their seat belts, they die. >> reporter: the chp says there will be an increased presence trying to discourage distracted driving. >> there is a chance for people to celebrate too hard. we want to make sure we're out there enforcing dui laws. we also want to keep speeds down. >> reporte
