west at 15, a slow mover, we're continuing to watch this in the afternoon it will progress in the caribbean sea. it will become an area of low pressure tomorrow it will be an area of low pressure coming up by tuesday. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, it's warm and humid, high of 89 degrees, we're watching later this evening, or tonight, a spotty shower or thunderstorm. i don't think this is a big deal, but something to watch. we're not getting the rain we can use. the rest of the seven-day period is looking dry. if you're east of the city along the shore you have a better chance of seeing the remnants moving through in the overnight hours, the rest of the day is dry and humid, wednesday, sunny and nice, the boring and beautiful weather pattern continues. on thursday it is still pleasant, 82 degrees, lots of sunshine. friday mostly sunny skies and 85. saturday partly sunny skies, 88. sunday very warm looking with a temperature near 90. 89 degrees, as the phils play we have no big weather-related problems, today a passing shower later on this evening. i don't think everybody will see

it has been generally moving straight to the west, into the caribbean sea, and generally south of puerto rico. yesterday, remember we were showing you computer models showing it was going to go north of puerto rico? so already, things have changed. it's moving just north of due west at 15 miles an hour, maximum winds of 45 miles an hour. now, there it is. as it moves to the west it's already disorganized. you see these clouds moving real fast? that strong upper level wind, that's really hostile for an environment for any kind of strengthening. so we don't think that this storm is going to strengthen over the next couple of days. the latest track from the hurricane center takes it near very mountainous country, haiti and dominican republic, and then near the bahamas. so it's not going to be able to strengthen until it would get into this area. if it gets in that area, then conditions become more favorable for strengthening. >> i know the power of this storm has a lot to do with weather it moves over the mountainous terrain. what are the chances erika will fall apart? >> it's already disor

sea. there are storms out there that based on their characteristics in the caribbean you would call them aurricane. in alaska in the bering sea it's normal weather during the wintertime. instead of passing over a 24 hour period it stays there for sometimes weeks on end and you just get the batter. it will either make you choose not to be a sailor anymore or will convince you that this is what i want to do. fortunate for the topic that this is what i wanted to be. i would also say i learned about what i call the tyranny of time and distance. that 800 miles out to adak, when you steaming around the ship at holy ghost 12 months it to get places in alaska. from adak although it up above the arctic circle was about 900 miles, from dutch harbor, the largest deep water port in alaska out in the aleutian chain, it's about 900 miles up to where shell is operating right now. to the nearest deep water port for shell is about 900 miles away. of coast guard cutters are up in the arctic, the nearest place they can refuel the dutch harbor. so the united states is rather limited in terms of infrastructure
