i'm carissa lawson in for anne-marie green. israel says it's investigating the air strikes on the southern city of rafah that sparked a fire at a camp for people who were displaced. palestinian medics say at least 35 people were killed. israel's military confirmed the strike saying it hit a hamas compound and killed two senior militants. and they're looking into reports that civilians were harmed. [ sirens ] the attack comes hours after hamas launched a barrage of rockets that set off air raid sirens as far away as tel aviv for the first time in months. the idf says eight rockets were fired from the rafah area. many were intercepted, but some pieces fell including one outside an elementary school in central israel. cbs' imtiaz tyab reports from east jerusalem. >> reporter: it was supposed to be a refuge for those fleeing israel's offensive in rafah. the israeli military struck the camp, and the scenes are horrific. a man holding a headless child with the death toll in the dozens. the survivors will likely end up at the nassar h
