we have carl cameron. would have's tricks? >> hey, hi, greg.le beat reporter at the end of a very long campaign trail but thank you. mr. romney is right now en route from the day on the road back to boston. he began this day in his hometown of belmont, massachusetts, where he cast a ballot for himself, wife ann with him. when he was asked who they voted for he said, "i think you know." from there, romney spent the day in ohio and pennsylvania dealing with volunteers, trying to jazz that get out the vote effort and the final day. romney upbeat and he told reporters a short time ago on the plane intellectually he thought he won it and would win it all along. he said he has only prepared one speech. it's victory speech. so there is a measure of his confidence. you talk to folks in boston as they watch what is happening. all of them furiously working the hand he would and cell phone. talk -- handheld and cell phones. it's a delosse race. republicans recognize it could turn on what happens in florida. and virginia, and ohio. they're watch them caref

lou: thank you carl cameron, fox news chief political correspondent, joining us now, fox news digital columnist editor chris and juan williams. >> no, if you look at polls, they have been consistent. outliers indicate that romney ever had a lead in ohio, i say the states you say it is unlikely to hold true would be florida, north carolina, virginia, colorado. with those exceptions obama had a strong lead beyond margin of error in those other states. lou: chris, do you agree? >> no. you are right about the polls that is just silly talk, my mother would call that bar talk. we know that this race is impossibly close, very much too close to call. president had a structural lead this held for him in swing states but mitt romney has continued to lead in national, somebody will be right, somebody will be wrong. >> water, you said in battle ground states, obama has demonstrated a lead in polls, i think it is important. >> in ohio specifically. >> it is important, to s look, mitt romney may actually win the popular vote. but he will los the election if he does not win the battle ground states.

and carl cameron live from the governor romney campaign.ost of our stations have been away with their local races and they've come back to us for national coverage. many of those local stations didn't hear is that as far as i know there's been no call of concession, no concession speech. what is the hold up? >> reporter: well we expect to be told immediately after that phone call is made and have not been told. there's been a level of radio silence from romney's senior staffers and there's good reason for it. they told me today that mitt romney only wrote one speech. an acceptance speech. so, presumably mr. romney who they say wrote his own acceptance speech is now editing and he may well be getting help from staff. rewriting and scrambling out something by way of a concession speech. that could take a little bit of time. there are some sort of technical aspects of things. the pool, the tight group of reporters that have traveled with mr. romney when we the traveling press have not been able to get into certain closed events or smaller venu

let's bring in campaign carl cameron standing by at the rally with his thoughts. a big and enthusiastic crowd out there, carl. >> well, uma, romney is now giving the sort of blunt, candid contrasts of what he promises as opposed to what president obama has delivered or in romney's view clearly has not delivered. as you just heard, he said that achievements are earned, you can say whatever you want, but you have to be able to produce and he's making the argument in the final three days that obviously, president obama's to romney's view has not. there's also a new attack coming from romney that stems from a comment from the president yesterday. when he told voters, they mentioned mitt romney's name and he said don't boo, vote, voting is the best way to get revenge. and mr. romney has been pounding the president ever since for that, watch. >> yesterday the president something, you may have heard by now that i think surprised a lot of people, speaking to an audience he said voting is the best revenge, he told the supporters, voting for revenge, vote for revenge? let me

carl cameron suspects they will chat. but, all thises if you about es if you fuss about early voting, don't remember so many voting so early so often. is that going to be a continued trend? >> i think that parties will want to get out vote, i do agree with lou, a lot of people wear certain color uniforms, whether it is red or blue, they don't want the facts to get in the way, we have a plurality of nonaligned independent voters, both parties lose market share, independence like myself, we're going up. and i think those will be more principal in criteria base voters, they may not vote as much early, because they don't wear a colors uniform. we'll see. lou: we've seen the -- we discussed -- early vote, has increased exp exponentially ove0 years, because of help america vote act. we have seen it go. >> 16% to 22% to now over a third. and we have to really assess, i would think it would be appropriate for us, to assess whether or not this is smart. what it is doing, sitting in stone, the election, you know, 30% of vote withou

ed henry in cincinnati covering president obama first to carl cameron live in pa with a romney camp with the event just wrapping up. this is his first visit in a long time to pennsylvania and you wonder what the real strategy is here? >> it is, shep. weeks and weeks since he's been here and if it were only for this one event, then it might be a bit of a reach for mitt romney to expect to win a state that's been voting democrat for so many years, but it really isn't just this event. we just had a fabulous fireworks display here, romney drew 28,000 people to this event and they came in part because for the last two weeks, tens of millions of dollars of advertising has started here, and been spent here both by the romney camp and the super pacs and the independent groups that support him. and that's changed the polls dramatically. the polls have tightened up, and in some, a virtual tossup and that puts romney in striking distance in a state he wasn't competitive in, that happens to be east of ohio. advertisements in pittsburgh, voting organization, grass roots in western pennsylvania plays

and wendell is in fairfax, virginia, this afternoon and carl cameron has a digital breakup on the bus. the plan to go to ohio he has been trailing in the polls, all of the palms, what do we make of this? >>carl: it is a clear sign that mitt romney knows winning victory is at hand but he needs to grab harder. he is not just going to ohio tomorrow but he is going to go to pittsburgh, pennsylvania. in ohio he knows that president obama has closed the gap in ohio and what was at one point appearing to be a lead for the republican former governor of massachusetts has turned into a dead heat and perhaps a bigger advantage for president obama in what was or is central to mitt romney's victory strategy. he will try to keep off advances to the president and put ohio in a victory column for mitt romney and it could be more defensive than what is going on in pennsylvania. in pennsylvania the polls have been closing and mitt romney has been coming from behind and is in a tie. tomorrow, he will go to pittsburgh, the western part of the state, where there is a media market bleed into ohio, but pitt

now we are waiting with carl cameron on the trail with the governor and joining us by phone. ou. how are you? >>carl: it is it not my fault. blame it on the air traffic. the plane was delayed in ohio by 45 minutes to an hour and there was a problem at philadelphia airport and we could not take off. romney is making a plea for pennsylvania, late in the game, and not the least is the change in the polls recently. the romney campaign believes strongly that they have an opportunity here based on the way the surveys have closed, and romney has last momentum momentum and they are pouring tens of millions in advertising for the last couple of weeks and the polls have reacted. this benefit, as far aspin person and -- as far as the state of pennsylvania and ohio share a border, and romney never included pennsylvania in their victory strategy, they did not anticipate having to win here, but, with so many of the battleground states toss up in the margin of error they are attempting to argue the battlefielded and include the obama campaign dismissing, which has gone democrat in presidenti

carl cameron with the news live in boston this afternoon. governor romney's campaign made decisions that our watchers indicate cost him. >>carl: one tinge he was particularly deficient in was latino vote. when george w. bush won in 2000 he was north 40 percent and mitt romney was down 27 percent. there are questions whether early in the summer when the obama campaign unleashed attack ads on romney's business career whether he responded adequately. some suggested that $30 million worth of positive ads could have neutralized that. he did not talk about bipartisanship in the language you normally hear at the end of a campaign particularly until after the convention. normally the convention is the point where the big tent is open and people try to bring in independents and moderates but it was conservative convention. there was a good example last night of the bipartisan out outreach. >> the nation is in a critical point. a time like this we cannot risk partisan bickering. our leaders have to reach across the aisle to do the people's work. we cit

carl cameron is there, as well. a busy day ahead for this guy. >>carl: they are racing in the final four days recognizing that turn out and the ground game will matter and he needs to energize the base and continue to talk about them. tomorrow we are going to hit at least three states, the same two on sunday and on monday getting back to new hampshire where the campaign started with four or five states. she all the key battleground states. he will visit ohio he times the next couple of days and another event here today. virginia a couple of times and florida a couple of times before wrapping up in boston. we have heard the closing arguments. it is a vote for obama is the status quo with stagnation. a vote for mitt romney is bold change and prosperity. the president made all kinds of promises to be a bipartisan leader and wasn't able to do that with obamacare with not a single republican vote and he promised to restore the economy, bring down the debt, cut taxes, balance the budget, et cetera, and that hasn't happened. he says if the country is beh
