chief political correspondent carl cameron joins us live from interstate 135 where he is chasing orman through -- >> reporter: the incumbent in kansas has been criticized by the independent challenger, greg orman of being out of touch because he spent so much time in the nation's capital. yesterday and today, mr. roberts has been traveling all over the state and at a number of -- and yesterday he had a number of governors with him, including chris christie and mike pence. both are looking at a 2016 white house race. there was governor haslett and haley barbour. all are arguing that pat roberts should remain the u.s. senator and that greg orman is out of line. as a consequence after that event, greg orman referred to the bus trip with all the gop luminaries including bob dole of being in a clown car running around kansas. that has prompted outrage on the right. pat roberts this morning at a parade earlier made a point of saying it's completely inappropriate and shows how out of touch orman is for insulting the iconic presidential candidate. >> i know every race is going to be tough. you

carl cameron reports from louisville, kentucky. carl. >> hi, megyn.fident tonight. last week they distributed an election violation notice that was sent out to a variety of candidates --@z@<ñ a variety of voters, excuse me. and in the case of allison lundergren-grimes, her campaign has distributed a flyer of their own. sort of racial overtones in this election race. in the case of allison lundergren grimes. she literally waved this and accused mitch mcconnell of voter intimidation. on the back it is however essentially a straight criticism the president and her policy allegiances. in the case of the grimes campaign, however, there has been a democratic flyer put out that has a picture of mitch mcconnell on the front and an african-american family on the back and mitch mcconnell is targeting our community. the grimes campaign attempt to have this stopped was tossed out by a judge saying it was not election intimidation, megyn. >> oh, boy. kentucky's not alone. race to try to gin up support. suggesting southerners don't like president obama because many

we're going to start first with campaign carl cameron quite literally on the road in piedmont. . >> reporter: hey, leland. well, the kentucky race is important to know there's been a development overnight. the mcconnell campaign is exploring the possibilities of pursuing legally some way to stop perhaps an injunction on a mailer being distributed by the allison lundergren grimes campaign. in this flier an african-american family is depicted. we have to stop mitch mcconnell, he is targeting our community saying he is throwing children out of head start and variety of other things. campaign believes this is reckless and vicious attempt to inject race into this campaign. how that plays out in the next two days could have some effect on turnout and could be one of those last-minute surprises that causes things to be topsy turvy. across the country there are about nine races that are incredibly tight within the margin of error. the latest fox poll show three that have really big impact. the first, iowa, where there is a dead even race. in that race joni ernst, the republican, is pois
