[applause] >> dr. hayden, i just want to tell you how much we appreciate you taking the time out of incredibly busy schedule to come and join us. i knew you flew in thursday night and then we had a very busy day yesterday. how was that experience for you yesterday? >> it was a world win and when you mentioned that the librarians from all other the state, we had -- it's like oxy moron, what was inspiring was the fact that librarians and people who love books and reading, it's a community, it doesn't matter you you, your state, in fact, you remember chairman harper, i even forgot where i was because i was around my library peeps. [laughter] >> where am i? , oh, yes. that's what unify us. >> we started the day at the supreme court building. at the state law library and that was an amazing experience to learn that the state of mississippi which became a state in 1817 and 1818 was already planning and had resolution for the purchase of books and maps to preserve that history that was coming. >> and it was a

[cheers and applause] >> thank you so much. i must tell you. i have had the warmest welcome in mississippi and my mom is tuned right now to c-span. we talked last night. the books were everywhere and i talked to one of the guys who said that people would walk down the street and see her in the window and they knew she was there and she always came back home to jackson to write and that's where she got her inspiration and i was able to also visit yesterday and congratulations, i have to say on third book festival in the state of mississippi. first lady laura bush with the first texas book festival. she got it going. when she came and said, i'm coming back home to mississippi to start and work on the mississippi book festival, so thank you, hollie. [applause] >> and what they did, though, was they asked then governor to have it at the state capitol and hollie sent you, governor, for opening up the state capitol to have authors and readers all over this building. in fact, there's going to be and i'm doing commercial in room 204, marathon, all day
