republican jim carlin announced his candidacy for the iowa house. dozens gathered in the library in sergeant bluff-luton elementary for the announcement , this afternoon. when asked how he came to this decision, carlin says he's concerned for future generations. "like a lot of grandparents, we're concerned about the future of our grandchildren," said carlin. "we want them to have the same things we had, we want them to have the same opportunities and education and have the same values to build a life with." carlin has been an attorney in over 23 years. he is also a veteran of the united states army. iowa state representativ e dan huseman announced today he will be running for re-election in district 3. huseman graduated from aurelia high school and buena vista university. huseman serves as chair of the transportatio n, infrastructur e and capitals appropriation s subcommitee. according to a release from the iowa house republicans, huseman says he is pleased with the progress the house has made and looks to continue his efforts in balancing the state
