we're live at san carlos city hall where the talks are about to begin in an hour or so. >> reporter: yeah, jessica, the city council has a lot of questions regarding pg&e's gas pipeline 147. at their meeting tonight, they'll decide whether or not to spend that $250,000 on their own experts to answer those questions. pg&e's own internal e-mails raised concerns about the possibility of a san bruno-type situation referring to the tragic pipeline explosion in september of 2010. >> we don't want to overreact, but we don't want to underreact either. we want to make sure that the information that's been provided that is being provided is accurate. >> we encourage our employees to raise their concerns. we evaluate the issue and demonstrate the pipe was in good condition operating safely. >> reporter: the city became concerned after getting e-mails last week about gas pipeline 147. it runs the length of san kcarls avenue underneath brittan avenue. a leak was repaired in november of 2012. so the city manager wants to spend $250,000 to hire legal and engineering experts to audit records, reports
