. >> good evening superintendent carlos garcia and commissioners, i am part of the parent advisory committee. i have two children that attend the district. i am a member of the advisory council program. >> i staff the current advisory council. i know of the parent of a student because she is graduating tomorrow night. we are going to share this report and talk a little bit about the process of the community process about restorative practices. gloria is going to talk about who we heard from. from 2006 to 2011, they led dozens of conversations, most of them focused on issues of equality. we heard many parents talk about and share their concern about bullying, the lack of communication with schools, and unfair and disciplinary practices. many families expressed urgency and a need for improving and the environment. it has been clear that most families don't know that was passed in 2009 as a way to embrace justice to improve climate and address the disproportionately higher rates of suspension for african- american and latino students. restorative practices should be one of our main priorities.

the san francisco school superintendent carlos garcia says his school district cut four days this year >> to put all of the economic crisis on our children, it's appalling. what are we all just sleeping watching this occur. this is happening. he also warns the governor's tax plan is not a fix-all. even if it passes, he says his district will have to cut $83 million. 43% of likely voters disapprove of the job he's doing. that's according to a new poll by the public policy institute of california. in april's the governor's rating was at 47%. 56% of the vo -- 56% of voters say they will vote yes. the rest are undecided. 2 inches could make all of the difference for businesses at an airport just outside of the airport. one of the runways at the tracy municipal airport is 2 inches shy of 4,000 feet. the other is two feet longer than that. a runway must be 4,000 feet or longer for some jets to legally land and take off. that means fewer people use the airport and support the businesses there. the runways were longer until a recent repaving job that fell just short of that magic number. >>> a
