[cheers and applause] i was humbled and honored when chief nicholson asked me to serve as her mistress of ceremonies for this occasion. as some of you may know, my husband is a proud lieutenant of the san francisco fire department, and members of the san francisco fire department have become an important part of my own extended family. today, i could not be any more proud to stand beside chief nicholson as we celebrate the swearing in of our 26 chief of the san francisco fire department.
