hello, and welcome to the travel show with me, carmen roberts.e're only three months into 2019 and already we've covered plenty of ground, so this week we're going to take a look back at some of our favourite stories so far this year. if you love movies, this street in la is the place to be. my mask started to fill with water and i started to panic, so i was like... they're really affectionate. hey! oh, my gosh. i think i'm still recovering from the dragon dance in taiwan. anyway, more of that later on in the show, but first let's kick off by heading to paris, where back in february, christa got to see how the years have taken their toll on one of the city's most iconic buildings. notre dame cathedral is the city's most visited monument. 30 million people walk through its gigantic doors every year — that's twice as many as head to the eiffel tower. the cathedral was damaged in the french revolution, many of its figures were defaced, but there are sections that still remain from before the revolution and have been reconstructed since, like the las

until next time, from me, carmen roberts, and the rest of the travel show team here in southern japandy had one area of low pressure affecting the uk this weekend. there is another on the way for sunday. the first eases away from northern scotland during sunday. here comes the second rapidly deepening area of low pressure, coming right out of storm freya, and things will be turning stormy across parts of england and wales in particular, later on sunday. that said, it's a very windy start to sunday. northern scotland, from still that first area of low pressure, some gusts up to around 70 miles an hour and plenty of heavy showers moving in. a cooler start for many of us, milder in southern england and outbreaks of rain. during sunday, heavy showers and very strong winds in northern scotland are going to ease. to the south, we see the rain pushing north across more of england and wales as we go through the day, eventually into parts of northern ireland and southern scotland. you can see a bit of hill snow as well in the northern highlands, the pennines and uplands. it clears away as we g

until next time, from me, carmen roberts, and the rest of the travel show team here in southern japan won't be cold for the time of year this weekend. but it will be wet at times and it will be very windy at times too, even stormy in places. one area of low pressure passes close by on saturday. another rapidly deepening area of low pressure will come in on sunday, so spells of wind and rain. but it's this second system on sunday, named by the met office as storm freya to raise awareness of potential impacts, that's going to pack the biggest punch, if you like, and we'll get to that in a moment. saturday starts perhaps a little damp still across easternmost parts of the uk, with overnight rain clearing away. no frost around, plenty of cloud, maybe the odd mist and fog patch to the west initially, and then many of us will brighten up for a time. but remember that first area of low pressure. here comes the rain from it quite quickly into northern ireland, then western scotland and parts of wales, and all of that will push further east as we go through the evening. so if you're not wet by
