caroline pollock on the latest tuna conservation survey.he world has seen, but he died without completing his tenth symphony. what it would have sounded like has always been a mystery. a computer has been enlisted to solve it. tim allman reports. classical music. beethoven's ninth symphony, also known as ode tojoy, is viewed by many as his greatest achievement. but it was his also his final symphony. a tenth was planned, but never finished. here in the swiss city of lausanne, the conductor guillaume berney and programmer florian colombo want to do something about that. inputting much of beethoven's work into a computer and then letting artificial intelligence take over. composing its own version of what his tenth symphony may have sounded like. the two men had no idea what to expect until the sheets of music were printed out for the first time. translation: in the end, the idea is to be able - to press the button and have the complete score for the entire symphony orchestra without any human intervention other than my work at the beginning.

caroline pollock is senior programme co—ordinator for the conservation group's red list.y fantastic. it clearly demonstrates what can be done when regions and fisheries management teams work together. these are massively wide—ranging species. 0bviously all of the regions have to cooperate and it's finally paying off. so, four species have now moved into a lesser threatened category. but it doesn't actually mean we can all go out and start fishing tuna like crazy, now. there are still some concerns in certain parts of the ranging. for the elfin tuna there still concern for the indian ocean. for the atlantic bluefin, the western atlantic stock is in serious decline, but that's a smaller part of the population. still, it needs some focus forfisheries management there. and as far as sharks and rays are concerned, you're worried about their status. how does that affect the larger ecosystem? it has a very severe effect over the larger ecosystem in ocean areas. sharks are the top predators. they have a very important role to play in the ecosystem. so the recent reassessment of t
