carolyn. >> developing news in san francisco.ne person has died and two others have been injured following a car crash. it happened just after 10:00 when a car crashed into a wall on westbound i-80 at the fifth street off-ramp. three people were in the car. one was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. the extent of the injuries of the other two are not no one. the off-ramp was closed for about an hour while crews worked to clear the scene. no word yet on what caused the crash. >>> a san francisco police officer was injured after crashing into another car. it happened just after 3:30 yesterday afternoon at california street and 12th avenue. a witness told abc7 news the officer appeared to be on a cell phone and ran a red light. investigators have confirmed the officer broadsided another vehicle, but will only say the details are still under investigation. the other driver was not hurt. the officer was transported to the hospital, but he was not seriously injured. >>> this morning an east palo alto man is in custody, suspecte

carolyn. thank you, lisa. developing news in san francisco. one person has died and two others have been injured following a car crash last night. it happened just after 10:00 when a car crashed into a wall on westbound i-80 at the fifth street off-ramp. three people were in the car. one was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. the extent of the injuries of the other two are not no one. off-ramp was closed for about an hour while crews worked to clear the scene. no word yet on what caused the crash. >>> a san francisco police officer was injured after crashing into another car. it happened just after 3:30 yesterday afternoon at california street and 12th avenue. a witness told abc7 news the officer appeared to be on a cell phone and ran a red light. investigators are confirmed the officer broadsided another vehicle, but will only say the details are still under investigation. the other driver was not hurt. the officer was transported to the hospital, but he was not seriously injured. >>> this morning an east palo alto man is in custody,

carolyn. >> thank you, lisa.his morning at 8:00 caltrans will give us another progress report on work being done on the new bay bridge. so far everything is on schedule. take a look. this is a live look from our yerba buena eye -- island camera. it may open a little earlier than the scheduled opening tuesday morning at 5:00 a.m. they tell us the bridge is already capable of carrying traffic, except for smoothing a few surfaces, painting some lane lines. today they are wrapping up their project from the toll plaza to the new span. crews still need to finish striping a few stretches leading to the yerba buena tunnel and the s-curve to the old span is already being removed. >> there won't be an s-curve anymore, but when the bridge does open up there's a strict 50 mile-an-hour speed limit there. it will be strictly enforced by the california highway patrol. >> there's been a temporary bike lane for the new span. rest of the old steal bridge will be dismantled over the next three years. at 2,047 feet, the new bridge w

carolyn. >> thank you, francis. we have breaking news out of pittsburgh where three people have died following a house tire this morning. the two-alarm fire broke out at a home on dimaggio avenue around 12:30. three people died at the scene. they have not yet been identified. crews were able to get the fire about a half-hour later. investigators say a second home may have been damaged by the fire. >>> and following more breaking news, this time-out of oakland, where all lanes of southbound interstate 880 have reopen, following a fatal crash this morning. the accident was reported just after 1:30 at 98th avenue at the on-ramp there. police say multiple crashes were reported during that time. including one involving a motorcycle. one person was killed. it's unclear if that was the motorcyclist. the roadway was reopened around 3:30 this morning. >>> the search is on this morning four man involved in a shocking assault in the park. the victim, a housekeeper at a high-end hotel. lisa amin gulezian has the details. >> the
